NURUL ASYIKIN BINTI HARIYANTO's Reflection
RSS
To accomplish our dreams, we need to prepare ourselves with knowledge regarding the big data issue, professional skills and creative minds. Firstly, knowledge about big data. The big data term is still new to the public. However, we, students of bachelor in computer science, majoring in data engineering, must look into this issue and gaining further insight to enable us to make use of the skill we learnt to innovate a brand-new technology or upgrade current technologies which are capable to deal with the big data. Secondly, talking about professional skills. We are now learning a various type of skill during the lecture in UTM. However, as the time goes, new technologies are continuously improving and replacing existing products, meaning that that much more specialized and precise skills are required to manage them. Hence, we must catch up and learn through the other available resources besides from attending lecture so asto ensure we have truly mastered the skills and always be capable to handle the constantly changing technologies. Thirdly, creative minds. We should think creatively and let our imagination run wild, who knows, we are the ones that make the big data issues no longer a problem to the world.
The reflection that we got from this industry visit is more helpful. It is because the speaker gave an explanation very clearly about the programme that CIMB offered. It is also useful for our group in third year which is we must search a company that we can make a practical. So, we can apply internship programme at CIMB. Started from that we know our course can get a job at the bank. Besides, CIMB offered many activities and competition about programming so, if we enter the competition we can learn something new. Indirectly, we can sharpen our skills. Next, CIMB gave more information about our course that we really did not know before this. Now, we are very interested with our course and we want to learn more languages such as java and python because it can give more advantages to get a job later. From now on, we want to determine to study hard and get a dean list after that be a successful programmer, data analyst, data scientist and computer forensic professional.
As for reflection, we can conclude that this short visit to ADAX was beyond our expectations. We got a lot of useful information from the speakers in just a short of time which is around three hours about industrial revolutions, artificial intelligence, Data Camp for classroom, internet of things, undergraduate program and much more. Even though the session had ended, the speakers still waited to answer our questions and two of us did ask a few of questions about our future career. The most memorable line that we cannot forget was Dr Mark verse, “Your degree doesn’t define your future career and don’t afraid of anything”. This verse gave us hope and Dr Mark did successfully shot us with new spirit to keep learning in computer science field. We plan to stay on this track and be a successful programmer, data analyst, data scientist and a computer forensic professional. We need to prepare for our internship starting from now and begin to plan our project in order to be among those students who are standing out so that our paths to become what we want become a little bit easy. To enclose this report, we, Nur Fatihah, Nurul Asyikin, Nurin Nabila and Nurhalimatul Saadiah did our very best to finish this work together and enjoyed the trip and we hope we can achieve our ambition one day after successfully graduate in University of Technology Malaysia with dean title.
The second industrial talk. From our very own perspective, we can see that the technique of teaching students have evolved greatly since five years ago. Alot of innovattion have been used in order to result a drastic increase in students perfomance. Based on the talk and a few of booth that we visited, most of the innovator introduced teaching methods by using gamification either using online or offline platform such as monsoonsim and mooc and adopt a kampung. However, the old method which involved the interaction between around thrity students and an educator still being maintained as the statistic shown by this method did not bring total fatal to students performances.
The first industrial talk. The impact of the program to Malaysia is that we could decrease the rate of unemployment and provides a platform for Malaysian to search or create new digital work so that people could gain digital revenues. Hence, Malaysian economy could be better because the rate of unemployment expected to be decreasing. Statistics show that freelancers in Malaysian have contributed to the growth of the Malaysian economy. There is chances freelancing can develop and bloom that have been proven in countries such as Australia, the US, India and etc. Besides, this program helps people to increase their income annually and create a side income. Other than that, this program create awareness about self-employment which is a good thing to Malaysian and this program give a guideline to people who want to start their career like fresh graduate. For example, the picture bellows are success story about people who get involved into this program.
