Here is my reflection on my Industrial Training

The three months of Industrial Training at the Serting HIlir Palm Oil Mill was an awesome experience for me. Many kinds of experiences that I have been through while working there. During the industrial training, I had the chance to experience on doing laboratory tests by using the crude palm oil, kernels and effluent as the samples. It reminds me of the experiments that I have done during laboratory session in class. I had also learned the way they manage their samples and data records which are very systematic and accurate as it is involving the products that give profits to the company. Other than that, I had the chance to enter a meeting with the Head of Departments and the Mill Manager and Assistant Mill Manager. That experience had thought me on how meeting is held with the superior and I had watched and learned the way they handle the meeting and how they communicate with the superior in discussing on problems and their solutions. 

From the tasks and mini project assigned, I had the experience of communicating and discussing with the workers from various working stations and the superiors including my supervisor. I had done various kind of tasks assigned to me and other trainees such as to do Safety Inspection, pictorial procedure of Safety Control, and joined the audit on Safety and Health. These tasks that I have done were mostly in a group with the other trainee. Even though we are from different field of study and the tasks done were not really related to my studies but working together as a group makes me improve myself to be more outspoken and have more confidence in everything that I do. I realized that the knowledge that I gained from the tasks is important for maintaining a safe and healthy working environment at the workplace. The mini project given was able to be completed in time with lots of helps, and advice from my supervisor, and the staffs at the Biogas Department. They were always being helpful whenever I had discussions on things that I did not understand and discussions on my ideas with them. The staffs from other working stations were also love to share their knowledge and experience when I asked for their guidance to explain the process such as water treatment, boiler water treatment, sterilization of fresh fruit bunch and others. They also showed the tools used as they explain about them.

Overall, the industrial training had taught me to be more competent and aggressive to gain more knowledge while doing works. I had the opportunity to improve my social skills, working ethics, and professional growth as the mill has a healthy working environment with good manager and staffs.
