Activity 3

1) Mini Report

      Beach Clean-up Day was an event to spread awareness among community members about the importance of the ecosystem in our ocean. It was inspired by the hashtag SaveOurOcean, which currently popular at the time concerning the condition of our ocean which has become worst day by day. The activities began by distributing the cleaning equipment to ensure our safety while cleaning the beach. A few groups have been assigned to clean different areas because the condition of the beach was bad and packed with empty bottles, plastics, and more. This is where teamwork and communication between group members are crucial. Team Leader led the discussion and assigned the roles for each member. I was assigned to collect the trash on the cliff near the beach and it was pretty challenging. As time goes by, I have adapted to the environment there and was successfully clean the area. It took 3 hours to clean the beach and the trash collected was sent to the garbage house nearby.

2) Self Reflection

      From this program, I have learned that teamwork is very important to reduce the time for cleaning. At first, I was collecting while holding the trash bag and it took me a long time to finish an area. Thus, I asked for help to hold the trash bag and it makes the task more efficient and faster. This includes my communication skills too. Since I love cleaning, this program is suitable for me and I did not felt tired at all even though it takes 3 hours to clean up the beach. Moreover, the scenery was breathtaking and the breeze was relaxing which makes the whole experience more enjoyable. Although me and my friend was the only computer science student in the program, however, it did not stop me to associated with other participants. I have learned that connection is very important in university, hence I tried to make friends.
