Self Reflection
The crafting video competition had a profound impact on the development of students' Graduate Attributes. Through active participation, students had the opportunity to enhance their Communication Skills by effectively conveying the message of sustainability through their videos. They also sharpened their Thinking Skills by employing creative and innovative ideas to create visually captivating content. Engaging in thorough research on sustainable crafting techniques and materials further nurtured their Scholarship. Additionally, the competition fostered their Adaptability as they navigated challenges and adjusted their plans accordingly, while emphasizing the importance of being a Global Citizen by promoting environmental consciousness and responsibility.
Engaging in the crafting video competition allowed me to leverage my self-strength and gain a significant advantage in the activities. I focused on my creativity and artistic abilities to conceptualize a unique and visually compelling video. By utilizing the resources available within the KTDI area, I showcased my adaptability and made the most of the surroundings to capture the essence of sustainability. Moreover, my passion for environmental conservation provided me with the drive and determination to create a video that not only conveyed a powerful message but also resonated with the audience.
One of the challenges I faced during the competition was the lack of transport to explore the entire UTM campus and incorporate various locations into my video. To overcome this obstacle, I embraced a solution-oriented mindset. Rather than dwelling on what I couldn't do, I focused on what I could do within my limitations. I creatively utilized the spaces available within the KTDI area, exploring different angles, props, and settings to create visually appealing scenes. By maintaining a positive attitude and maximizing the potential of the given environment, I was able to produce a high-quality video that captured the spirit of sustainability and effectively conveyed my message.
