On 12th October 2019, Computer Graphics and Multimedia associations had organize an event called Experiential Development Program 2019 (Expedea'19) for the all students of Computer Graphics and Multimedia Software. The objective of the program was to foster a closer relationship among the first all SCSV students and also to train students to organize a program and an organization. The program took place at Pantai Desaru located in Desaru, Johor. The program started at 8:00A.M. in the morning and ended at 6:00P.M. in the evening. There was about 200 people of all SCSV students from first to fourth year that involved during the program. The 2/SCSV and 3/SCSV students involvement were as the committee members that organizing the events. I was involved as the committee member of the program and I was the one that responsible as the technical unit of the organization. The program focused was to form teamwork and friendship among the participants. They were also taught about leadership as some of the activities played during the program will be needed a leader to organize their team members. Majority of the activities also would needed them to have a great teamwork. As example, they were required to build a sand castle using pail, cups and any other items that they can found around them. Thus, they would have to discuss among them so they would strive together to compete against other team and be the best team among others. The program was held perfectly and everything's went as planned.
2.Self Reflection
I was involved as one of the committee members in Expedia. Expedia had taught me the most important lessons that would effects my future. One of it is about teamwork. In organizing such a big event, team work plays the most important role as everything need to be prepared before the program being held. I was in charged as one of the technical team member of the committee. Thus as part of important crew member, I learnt to discipline myself and be as best as possible in giving my efforts to help other crew members in my team. I also get to educate myself to be more responsible and be more hard working in all of my roles and works. Furthermore, I also get to change my perspective in thinking drastically especially in the critical time. Wise and fast decisions making is also the lesson that I learned from the event.
About Program
EXPEDEA'19 is a program that gather all SCSV students of all batch from 1SCSV to 4SCSV. The program was held at a beach and the concept of this program is to give a relief to the students to release their stress while having fun and creating stronger bonds between student themselves. There were more than 100 students that joined the program under Computer Graphics and Multimedia Associations (CGMA).
WHAT I GAIN FROM EXPEDEA'19
Communication Skills
From the program, I learnt on about how to give effective ideas to solve a problem that we all as the committee members were facing during the program. As a committee member, I was able to deliver great ideas that some of them were highly accepted by all the committee member. Thus, now I'm able to be more brave to voice out my suggestions instead of having myself become silent during a meeting.
Thinking Skills
From EXPEDEA'19, I learnt about how to give an effective solution during a situation during the program where problems suddenly occurred and we all have to give an immediate solution which can also called as critical thinking during that situations. Luckily, my idea had been used as the solution during that critical time.
Always Participate, Never Quit
I personally can conclude that EXPEDEA'19 is quite a tiring and heavy program to be handled because even as committee member, I had to take part as the participants of the event too during the program was running. Thus, I glad that I was able to face the struggles under the high temperature of surrounding since the weather on that day was very clear and bright. So, never quit and always put trust to yourself that you can go on and keep moving forward.
