My Life

Interests

  1. I have a keen interest on photography. It started when my dad got me my first camera (DSLR) when I was about 17 years old. I didn't know anything about cameras back then, so it was a unique learning experience. At first, I just started taking some random shots at home. Then I slowly started to venture around my neighbourhood and took pictures of flowers and other surroundings. At first, I wasn't happy with the results, but I knew it was my first time and I had much more time to improve myself. So since then, I go out every weekend to take photos and after some time I had decent shots. At that point, I started posting some of those photos online and I had some good response from my friends and other viewers online. Soon after, I learned about editing, which makes photos even more eye-catching for viewers. Here are some of my shots (its from 2017) :

     2. Besides I also really love listening to music. It seems like a weird interest, but music really connects me with my soul. My favourite genres are EDM, pop, jazz and electronic. Music is far more than just a pleasant sound to the ear. It helps you relax whenever you are stressed and music helps you express in ways that words will just never work.

    3.  I also love reading, which are strictly only covering comics and novels. I used to be a big fan of action and thriller novels. But recently, I started getting into more comedy and also love novels. It’s interesting to me about how people’s life revolve in a fictional love novel. Any small incidents or events can have catastrophic events towards the end of the novel.

GLOBAL VILLAGE 2020 - ON THE SAME EARTH

Date : 21/02/2020

Place : KTR

Position : Participant

This event was about bringing the culture of the whole world together. I joined this event because I was intrigued about all the cultures that exists around the world. The event started around 9 am in the morning. When i first reached there, i was astonished by the number of booths there were at the place. All of the cultures each had their own display of things that they brought from their hometown. It brings a new insight to how their culture works. Then the program was started with some performances from all different types of cultures. There were dances, songs, and all kinds of other activities that were all so fun to be a part of. I really learned a lot of things from that program and i'm glad i was able to join that.

Reflection

It took me a long time to get comfortable being me.

To be honest, it was only this year that I took a step back, looked at myself and thought, "What am I actually gonna do with my life?"

It was a long journey ahead of me, which i realised is gonna take a lot of effort if i actually wanna find an answer to my question. I often feel frustrated at not being 'perfect', not focusing on what I already have and always thinking that, 'I can never do that well'. It was all just a big black hole of negativity.

This year has completely changed my life around. I myself couldn’t believe that it only took one year for things to completely turn itself over. I’m not saying that it’s perfect or anything, but it certainly is better than before. However though, I’m not sure what exactly shifted my mindset .

Matrics life seemed hard at first, because it was the first time I was far from home and had to be independent all by myself. But after some time, I realised its actually a good learning curve in my life. I managed to bring myself forward and become someone better. It also helped me a lot to prepare for my university life.
