I am responsible to be the emcee for this webinar. I am responsible for handling the flow of the webinar using StreamYard application. Besides that i am the head of activity of this webinar.
Self-reflection
- Impact of the activities on the development of the students’ Graduate Attribute
The event improved my communication skill as it provided me the chances to emceeing for an event. I gained some experience and I have better ideas on how to emcee an event in the future. I didn't interact much with the speaker and lacked the skill to heat up the event. In the process of brainstorming the idea about the webinar, we think critically about the content of the webinar. Yasser and I work together as a team to think of the content and finish the proposal of the event for approval for HEP. We know each other well and trust each other and we come out with the proposal very fast. Besides that, I have more exposure to the streaming software .I never used it before but i manage to deploy it without much mistake with just a few practice under pressure(my nervousness).
- Self strength/advantage towards the activities
I am quite adaptive to technology. I learned how to use the StreamYard and I did practice a few times before the event. I didn't make many mistakes, just it took a few seconds for me to switch the sharing that we want to share to the audience on the screen.
- Challenges and how to overcome them
In my view the challenges I faced are the communication skills . It is my first time emceeing for an event. I am quite nervous. The way I overcome it is by not thinking much about it and I say to myself that just do it , don’t think so much. In the end I managed to do it although I didn't emcee the event very well but at least I learned something.
