In this project, I study the secondary data obtained from the website https://www.kaggle.com/spscientist/students-performance-in-exams. As this project is a group project, I discuss what variable to assign to a suitable test: Hypothesis test, Correlation test, Regression test and Chi Square test. We divide the tests among ourselves. As this project is a group project, the tests are divided among my group. One person will be responsible on a test. I am responsible to complete a Chi Square test to test the relationship between the lunch and the students' performances.

When completing the project, I take quite a long time to get familiar with the environment of the RStudio so that I can interpret the result of the Chi Square test as I am still new to RStudio. I learn to code to conduct the Chi Square test in RStudio by searching Google and watch demo videos on YouTube. After the report is completed, I present the result by filming a presentation video.

Throughout this project 2, I have learned how to do estimation of a population by analyzing the sample given. I learn more knowledge about coding and conducting test using RStudio. I also realized that the bigger the size of the sample, the more accurate of the estimation of a population.

Reflections : Graduate and Success Attribute

In this course, I was introduced to the attribute of UTM graduate skills which are very important in order to be success. With the guides of my lecturer, I was taught the basic skills which consist of communication, thinking, scholarship, teamwork & leadership, adaptability, global citizenship and enterprising skills through daily lessons, individual case study and group project. I hope that at the end of the course, I will be prepare to face the real challenging world. To strengthen my skills further, I will try to suggest myself to be a leader while in group work so that I can learned how to apply those skills in real life.

Reflections : Technology and Information I

In this course, I was taught the basic knowledge of technology and information and its uses in our daily life. I was introduced to various aspects such as hardware, software, network, communications, internet, multimedia, graphics and systems applications. I also learned the basic assembly of PC. I hope at the end of the course, I can be able to distinguish basic the technology component and applications and also apply the knowledge in real life. In order to that, I plan to enrol myself in an IT part-time job in this coming semester break, so that I can see more clearly on the application of the knowledge.

Reflections : Programming Technique I

In this course, I was introduced to the theory and practice on problem solving techniques by using the structured approach. My lecturer taught me to develop programs using C++ programming language, in order to solve simple to moderate problems. There are a total of 8 chapter which are : pre-processor directives, constants and variables, data types, input and output statements, control structures: sequential, selection and loop, built-in and user-defined functions, single and two dimensional arrays, file operations, pointers, and structured data types. I hope in the end of the curse I will be an expert in using C++ language for programming. To improve my skills in programming, I plan to enrol myself in an additional course for myself which is a C++ programming course on Youtube. I also plan to do more programming exercise to strengthen my skills.

Reflections : Discrete Structure

In this course, I was introduced to the principles and applications of discrete structure in the field of computer science. The topics that are covered in this course are set theory, proof techniques, relations, functions, recurrence relations, counting methods, graph theory, trees and finite automata. Besides, having my lessons in daily classes, I searched video online through Youtube to improve my understanding. The Youtube channel of the video called Math and Stats. However, I think I still need a lot of real life practices. Therefore, I plan to practice myself with some exercises online, which provide me a real life questions. I hope at the end of the course, I will be an expert on how to use set theory, relations and functions to solve computer science problems, analyze and solve problems using recurrence relations and counting methods, apply graph theory and trees in real world problems. I can also be able to used deterministic finite automata finite state machines to model electronic devices and problems.
