LAST PRESENTATION ON MY FIRST YEAR; THERMODYNAMICS

Friday, 1st june 2018

It's really a great experience that you need to present on your final exam week. On 1st june 2018, SMJC 1213 section 2 have conducted a presentation at syndicate room 2. My group's topic is "Carbon Capture and Storage Technology in Industries". There are about 8 groups and we are given 10 minutes to present; 7 minutes presentation and 3 minutes for Q&A sessions. Our group leaders, Syazwan Adli has assigned all of us in groups to search more in details about this topic. The presentation went well and Prof Goto gave us a good compliment and some things that we need to improve more. I hope that i and my team can improve a lot in term of skills on next presentations.

Books for this class

I have accomplished my Japanese class for three semesters in SLAJ1152, SLAJ2252 and SLAJ2352 at MJIIT, UTM Kuala Lumpur. Even though this language is a must course for us to graduate, but I have other reasons why I love to learn Japanese language. I’d bet that at least once in your life, you’ve felt a pang of regret during an encounter with someone from a different culture, when you realised how the experience could be enriched by knowing that person’s language. That’s also me regretting a lot before this. But…not know, I learned Japanese already! Besides, it is my dreams goal to travel to Japan in future, so I think it is early preparations that I have done. Moreover, in UTM Kuala Lumpur, students had a lot of opportunities to go to japan under Sakura program, GMP and much more. So, they can apply this language over there successfully. For three semester I learned Japanese, I was guided by two beautiful sensei, SALWATI sensei and LOW sensei that always patient to teach us until we understand better.

I had given three different assignment for three semester:

1st semester

In group of three, we need to act in front of class based on vocabulary and sentences that we have learned so far. So my groups story line is we went to watch shop to buy a watch based on cheapest price we can get. It’s really fun as we need to utilize our japanese knowledge and make a short dialogue.

2nd semester

For this semester, we need to do the assignment individually. The task is we need to interview japanese lecturer and dig more about them. So, I decided to choose Dr Jun Ishimatsu for me to interview. I know a lot about him such as favorite place to eat, where he is live in japan and many more. Suprisingly, he can speak malay fluentlysurprised

3rd semester

I think this is the best task for Japan languages. It is because we need to make a video based on what situations we want. It tooks us about 2 days to shoot the video. We really laughed a lot when watched back the video. And other’s group too. For your information, im in charge to edit the video as I really love to to this kind of thing.

You can watch the video here : https://youtu.be/qLqR_uvnfv8

Last but not least, what can I concluded is once you’ve held your very first conversation in a foreign language, trust me: you’ll never look back. I am really glad for taking this language class. Currently, I am preparing for Job Fair Interview that will be held on October 2020. I have finished module one for Special Japanese Program last month for about one month and now, I still doing self-study to improve my vocabulary, grammar and so on for the interview.

SEPARATION PROCESS I PROJECT (SMJC 3263) RSS

Monday, 09th December 2019

IMG_20191211_153646_359.jpg

Today mark the day i presented my project in front of the panel including my two others lecturer. I really got nervous like 2-3 hours before our group turns as i started to worry because of the content of presentation by other group is better than us (they include problem statement, objectives, etc) and prototype. I was like they were really creative to design a good plant process. Unfortunately, a terrible mistakes occurred during presentation because of me as i am lacking a confidence at that time. This is my first time to be a leader in a project group.

We named our group as “DRYARS” as we will be focusing on dry distillation. After having a lot of opinion, discussion and so on, we choose to further study on “dry distillation of discarded rubber tires”. The product of this process are steel wire, fuel, solid residue and carbon particles. Our main concern is to do a new improvement on the recent industry related to our topic. After countless meeting and rejection of idea on improvement, we came to conclude that we used byproduct which is steel wire as the new improvement or problem but it is still related to dry distillation. I tried my best to be a good leader and example for my teammate. I try and error a lot when it comes to discussion, task distribution, design of prototype, references and even the smallest things matter like who is capable to responsible on what position.

Below is the whole process of dry distillation of discarded rubber tires and the new improvement that we implement which is by doing steel melting production.

And I introduced my team member and our roles in this project.

Below is the prototype from our group. Most of the materials is used from recycle material like straw, box and so on. We also negotiate with other team to borrow their things so that we can save money and environment.

I learned a lot from this project where we need to always confident with whatever we decided. Don’t ever felt weak until the end. Luckily we receive two questions that we had predicted before from panel and students.
