REPORT ACTIVITY NO.1

The Let's Learn Photoshop initiative teaches students the basics of Adobe Photoshop. Adobe Photoshop allows users to edit pictures and design artwork based on their creativity. By using Adobe Photoshop, students can show off their creativity and gain lifelong learning skills. This will also boost their employment opportunities.

The organizer was the Multimedia Unit of the Jawantankuasa Mahasiswa Kolej Tun Dr Ismail. The program was held via Webex on Friday, 22nd April 2022. However, the program was split into two slots, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2.30 p.m. to 4 p.m. The two slots are dedicated to the speaker to provide as much information to the students. 

The speaker of the Let’s Learn Photoshop was Encik Marzuqi Bin Muhammad, a designer at the Student Affairs Administration Department, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Department, University Teknologi Malaysia. He shared his expertise and gave hands-on experience to the participants by having a tutorial session. 

I was recruited into the technical and protocol crew along with two others. It was my first time in the technical department. I was grateful for the opportunity given because I get to learn new skills and experiences from the program preparation.

Throughout the program preparation, I gained ample experience as a technical and protocol crew. However, with that came a lot of challenges. My head of department was juggling two programs at once. Thus, there were several times that there was a lack of information due to the HOD not giving updates to the group. The Vice Director, who was assigned to our department, was able to communicate with me regarding updates and the task at hand. Since the two departments are merged, there were several confusions regarding the tasks at hand. 

Being in the crew has helped me, gained several skills such as doing a proper running order, emcee script and setting up the Webex. Since it was my first time setting up Webex, I had to put in extra effort to find a solution that worked smoothly. I have also improved my communication skills through the preparation of the emcee and during rehearsal. Speaking properly and explaining precisely the instruction and opinion. This is because different people have different perspectives and opinions. 

Lastly, the program was a success despite all the challenges. Through this program, I have been able to gain new skills in the technical and protocol department. I am excited to try more opportunities in the technical and protocol department. I would imply all the experiences and knowledge I learn throughout this program in the future.
