SECI 2143 - PROBABILITY & STATISTICAL DATA ANALYSIS

Reflection

Probability And Statistical Data Analysis course introduces mathematical methods to solve real problems, majorly emphasizing how data can be obtained and analyzed using various methods. I am placed in the Section where Dr Sharin Hazlin Huspi has taught throughout this course. I definitely would say I enjoyed the learning process implemented by Dr Sharin. The weekly video watch and then discussion during the next class has made me feel accountable for the work that I am responsible for. Besides, I look forward to the discussion as I am very sure that I will have a better grasp of the topics after reviewing the exercises. Throughout this course, in total 2 projects and 3 assignments were given as the whole semester is online. I had two different groups, one for assignments and the other for the group project.

Moving on to the assignment group, I was with Keshiny and Roshini. I had a great time completing my assignments with them. They both were really helpful and understanding. Great teamwork makes things work. And just like that we always work together while having fun but made sure to send our assignments on time. I honestly take more time to complete the assignments as I tend to go over and make sure everything is correct. I even study back the chapter just to make sure I answer the questions using the proper method.

As for the group project, I teamed up with Erica, Guo Ming and Firdaus. For the first group project, we rushed a little as to obtain 60 data using the questionnaire that we have created was a challenging task. We managed to complete it on time and utilized Microsoft Excel to create different graphs and pie charts to better visualise our results. Dr Sharin was kind in terms of giving advice and reference reports so that we do not repeat careless mistakes. This has made our report process easier as we had guidance. As for Project 2, RProgramming was implemented. I honestly would say I was unable to explore much as I was going through hard times, thus making me slack off. However, I manage to learn the basics and complete two tests to analyse the data set of student performance. A great shoutout to my groupmates who were understanding of my situation and told me it was fine to send things a little later. I gave my best and hoped that everything goes well for Project 2. Regardless, I was hooked with the RProgramming once I started and I am interested in learning more in the future. My implementation of RPRgramming was much easier as Dr Sharin has provided many resources previously. I am grateful for such a caring and kind lecturer for this course. Even the due date was scheduled later, as Dr Sharin understand our situation. Thus, thank you so much, Dr Sharin.

As a whole, the course throughout the semester was great. I am grateful to have a kind, dedicated and understanding lecturer, Dr Sharin. Besides, every resource given was really helpful for me to understand the topics better alongside the videos provided. These resources have made learning Probability and Statistical Analysis Data much easier. I would not deny that I dreaded the R Programming process but it was my fault for not exploring much sooner. regardless, I had a better understanding of the topics much sooner than I anticipated which made me do well in my quizzes and test. I do hope that I can maintain for my Finals too. And finally, a huge thanks to Dr Sharin for implementing a really friendly approach to studying and also allocate time for discussion and final revision. Thank you, Dr Sharin, for allowing us to look through our assignments and projects and recheck our mistakes and allow us to amend our marks if necessary. I do hope I get to learn from Dr Sharin again in the future.
