ASSIGNMENT 2//DESIGN THINKING PROJECT

The second assignment given to us was design thinking project. Based on my understanding, design thinking is an iterative process where we try to identify a problem and discuss the challenges and user requirements to come up with alternatives to solve the respective issue. There are 5 major steps in design thinking process which are empathize, define, and ideate, prototype and testing. In this project, first my group mates and I identifies a problem to be solved. We took identity theft as a problem for our project. Then, we did our research on identity theft on what are the factors and impacts of identity theft. Then, we interviewed Mr. Mohd Zahari, Network Admin at UTM to get some information about identity theft. After that, we proceed further and discussed about the solution for our problem. After brainstorming many ideas, we came up with an idea of creating an app for monitoring malicious act in our smartphones. Then, we created a prototype for our app. At last, we make a report on short video on our project progress. In conclusion, this project gave me an exposure on what is design thinking and how important it is to identify an issue and coming up with many creative and innovative ideas. I will definitely use knowledge I learn about design thinking in my real-life to solve problems.
