The purpose of this sharing session is to give exposure to students about how to get a job that we want after graduating, build up some confidence during the lessons and or the job interview, stay motivated, be able to prioritize what is needed, and so on.

Initially, the session is supposed to have four speakers, but one speaker cannot join for
unavoidable reasons. We have been informed that all the speakers managed to get a
permanent job after graduation.

UTM ALUMNIS' EXPERIENCES AND ADVICES:

1. Tan Yong Keong

• Motivation is one of the important thing to have to study
• He insisted us to have good soft skills
• Understanding the concept of the code is more important than learning new code language
• He said that we should do a lot of programming exercise through internet, and have a mindset to love the programming not as a burden but to create something new such as apps that can help people
• Participation in a lot of competition can gain the confidence to us
• In order to have a higher chance to get the job, we need to learn new skills apart from academic stuffs compared to CGPA

        2. Mohammad Zamarul Akmal

• Exposing our ideas to our company helps us to increase our chance to get job.
• Apart from fundamental knowledge that we learn from your university, we should learn more technical skills
• Improving our soft skill by attending any online learning and get certificate or something that we can attach it in our resume later increases our chance to secure our job
• Insisted that we should have a good communication skill because we can’t just sit in front of our laptop during work but we have to share our ideas with people when we’re working.
• We need to have teamwork skill by being an easygoing person and blend with people
• We have to discipline ourselves by minimizing our mistakes during class by consulting lecturers or asking our classmates

        3. Batrisyia

• We have to be active during internship
• We shouldn’t limit ourselves as we should always try to ask others if there is anything that we can help so we can learn more and get more experience during internship.
• Presenting and sharing our project ideas, speak more, enjoy study with friends, and avoid being shy are the tips to gain confidence.
• Proper attitude will help us to get hired in private sectors
