FARAH AIN BINTI JOHAR's Reflection
RSS
Oh my god! Time flies fast! I did not expect this to be my last day for my internship programme. I have gained a lot of good experiences thanks to my company's supervisor, En. Shazrin and Mr. Mok. Plus, Dr. Tan has been given me a few guidance too during the internship. All left with reports. I was so sad and devastated that working experience will come to an end now. However, I do take it as good basics and skills gained from my internship in order to face my fourth year.
Thank you so much to everyone who has cooperated and helped me during my internship programme. Till we meet again.
Goodbye office, goodbye internship! ? Will miss all of these memories till forever ?.
Goodbye to my fish too! :(
?
Dr. Tan who was my MJIIT Supervisor has visited me during my internship. I prepared a PowerPoint presentation to sum up my experiences during the internship. I was nervous yet feel relieved after the visit. Good experience overall! Thank you, Dr. Tan and my supervisor in the company, En. Shazrin and Mr. Mok! hehehe~
I visited the Washhouse at Petaling Jaya and observed all the data in order to complete my audit report. The main objective is to calculate the amount of carbon dioxide emitted in the premise. I need to draw a process flow and determine the hotspot of carbon dioxide emitted too. All issues and improvement were listed.
Trust me! This can be very tough at first, but afterwards, if you already got the hang on it, well you're good enough to go again. Still, one of my best experience during the internship. I learnt a lot and gained new bits of knowledge. Plus, I've heard that as a Cleaner Production or Green Industry Auditor, you will make a lot of ??. (p/s: not being materialistic but realistic! ?) Well, you get what you worked for.
The GIA was introduced to Malaysia recently. Therefore, I've been given a task to complete all the readings in the books co-written by my supervisor to visualise some of the processes. Well, I just knew the fact that GI was very vital in our life since it uses as a preventive measure to minimize the amount of carbon footprint. This is very significant in order to not pollute the environment.
Was tough at first but well, you gotta work hard to achieve ur goals tho!
Another task that I have been so keen to learn was the Biofiltration System in the aquarium tanks! After some renovations in the office, the office was divided into a few partitions while two additional of aquarium racks were added. I learn the importance of cleaning system as in the biological filtration system of an aqua cycle.
- The aquariums should all be cleaned up with water.
- Then, couples of filter system were added. The first layer consists of Filter sponge and ceramic rings. The next layer was the lava rocks and soon topped with Aquarium soil. There was also a double sponge filter in the aquarium. These materials have tiny little pores which serve as beneficial bacteria's home.
- All the water will be added in the aquarium with the respective pump.
- All done!
p/s: All of these steps required quite some times since there were almost 40+ aquariums.
Surprisingly, I learnt to be a journal manager which was to upload all the journals. Most likely, it was behind the scenes works after sending the written articles or researches. As a journal manager, I need to re-check the articles into the given format of the journal that will be published under. The journal whereby the articles that I edited were uploaded in the Regional Chemical Engineering Undergraduate Congress under the Special Issue region (RCEUC).
Whoops! It is not easy to work as a journal manager tho! However, it was a great experience.
I was given the responsibilities to observe the water cycle and algae removal from the PVA beads. 1mL of Zero Algae was added every two days in a 10L amount of water.
Well, not forgetting that my company was located in Universiti Malaya and my company's name is Galaxy Tech Solutions.
Looking forward to my first task during the internship, which is only some reading materials regarding PVA beads. Well, since my company (Galaxy Tech Solutions) is a consultancy engineering on cleaning services so, I need to have more and better understanding of what the work scope involved.
Good morning everyone! Today is the first day of the internship programme which starts from 20th of July 2020 - 9th of October 2020.Well, couldn't be more excited but nervous~

In this presentation, i worked behind the scene as a part of the solver and a writer for the solution of the question given. The solution was written by me. Hence, i am sorry if there is any unclear words or equations provided. Besides, I also learnt that team working skill is very important. Everyone in my group work hard in order to solve the question together. We all shared our own ideas and understanding to find the solution.
