PROJECT 2 - STATISTICAL ANALYSIS

The topic I chose in this project is "International Visitor to London", the reason I chose this topic is because I personally like the country of London and explore more about the country I like is interesting. After getting the data needed, it turns out there are some things I did not understand after reading the datasets, I decided to contact the party concerned officially via e-mail. And also consulted my lecturer, Dr. Suhaila. After getting an explanation and understanding the data, I began to compile a proposal to be submitted in e-learning. After a time, I started testing the data data and variables that will be tested. All tests are done in the R programming language, this is a new experience that I got. During this time, I counted t-tests, chi square tests and other tests manually, but now I learned to use the R programming language to calculate the results of those tests. There are several test variables that I replaced from the results of the proposal that were submitted yesterday, I replaced them because I think the variable I wrote in the proposal was not appropriate to be tested on the selected test. After completing all the necessary tests, I began to make a report.

From result of testing 2 sample, I know that London visitor in middle (July - September) of the year is more than London visitor in beginning of the year (January - March). From correlation testing, I have tested 2 variables which are duration stay with spend, I have found out that those 2 variables has no relationship each other. From regression testing, I have testing 2 variables that I think will relate each other, variable spend as dependent variable and variable nights as independent variable, I want to test either night can explain about spend variable or not, after I found out the result of the test I know that there is no relationship between these two variable, night can not explain much about spend variable. From goodness of fit test, I found out that proportion visitor mode come to London is different each other, there is 3 modes available which are air, sea and tunnel. From chi square of independence test, I found out that there is a relationship between visitor purpose come to London and visitor mode come to London. from ANOVA test, I tested 5 country of London visitor and found out every country has their own average of their citizen visiting London, based on my research most of the visitor come from USA.

I am grateful to be given this kind of knowledge and experience. I also want to thank my lecturer, Dr. Suhaila for giving so much new knowledge in this second semester.
