SYSTEM SOFTWARE

1) System software is a type of computer program that is designed to run a computer's hardware and application programs. Four types of system software is Operating systems, device drivers, System servers and Utility Software. Operating system is the most important software that runs on a computer. A device driver is a program that controls a particular type of device that is attached to your computers. A server operating system, also called server OS, is an operating system specifically designed to run on server. Utility Software is a system software designed to help and analyze, configure, optimize or maintain a computer.  

2) Operating system manages the computer's memory and processes, as well as all of its software and hardware. Basic features of operating system is it provides user interface, hardware adaptability, memory management, task management  and many more. Three categories of operating system is embedded operating system, network operating system and stand-alone operating systems.

3) Desktop operating system is the control program in a user's machine (desktop or laptop) and another name for it "client operating system". Windows is the most popular and well-known operating system among all of them. Mac OS is from the Apple company. Linux is similar to UNIX but is use as an extension system for it. Chromium OS is an open-source project that aims to build an operating system that provides a fast, simple, and more secure computing experience. Virtualization is to create a virtual version of a device or resource, such as a server, storage device, network or even an operating system where the framework divides the resource into one or more execution environments.

4) A mobile OS, also called a mobile OS, is an operating system that is specifically designed to run on mobile devices such as mobile phones, smartphones, PDAs, tablet computers and other handheld devices. Six example of mobile OS is Apple iOS, Google Android, Blackberry OS, Nokia's Symbian.

5) Utilities are specialize programs to make computing easier. Five example of most essential utilities programs are antivirus software, backup software, disk tools, troubleshooting and file compression programs. Utilities suites are a group of utility in one package. 

6)  A device driver is a program that controls a particular type of device that is attached to your computer. 

They are two type device; external and internal, both a secondary storage that is used to store data that a user creates. When a user install a new device, the Add a Device Wizard is use to step-by-step installation. When new program is installed them the window will run a Windows Update so it can read the device or data.

REFLECTION

I have learned about basic and special application software in the previous chapter, now i get to know about system software. System software is a type of computer program that is designed to run a computer's hardware and application programs. System software have four types which is Operating systems, device drivers, System servers and Utility Software.
