1) General purpose application software is a type of application that can be used for a variety of tasks while special purpose application software is a type of software created to execute one specific task. Common features of applications program is toolbar, menus, dialog boxes and icons.
2) Word processor is a program for storing, maniulating and formatting text entered from a keyboard and provididing a print out. Editing involves all the activities closely associated with " creating and changing the text in a document ". Formatting involves all the activities which alter the position and appearance of a documents elements.
3) A spreadsheets is an interactive computer application for organization, analysis and storage of data in tabular form. A workbook is the name given to an Excel file and contains one or more worksheets. A worksheets or sheet is a single page in a file created with an electronic spreadsheet program. Cells can contain tables, numbers formulas and functions. Text entries provide meaning to the values in the worksheet. It is easier to use functions than to enter a formula. Formulas provide a way to perform calculations in the worksheet. What-if analysis is a very powerful and simple tool to test the effects of different assumptions in a spreadsheet.
4) Databases is a collection of related data and data is a collected of facts and figured that can be processed to produce information. A databases management system stores data in such a way that it becomes easier to retrieve, manipulate and produce information. Relational databases is a database structured to recognize relations between stored items of information. Sorting is to make the report easier for employees to locate either employees who live in the same city, you sorted the query results alphabetically. Your query requests all the related information. From a variety of different formats you select the format to display the information.
5) A presentation program is a software package used to display information in the form of slide show. It has three major functions, an editor that allow inserted and formatted, a method for inserting and manipulating graphic images , and a slide show system to display the content. Templates provide an excellent way to quickly create a presentation by providing predesigned styles and layouts as well as suggested content based on the type of template you select.
6) The difference between integrayed packages and software suites is integrated packages is a single program that contains "modules" for many popular business applications. Productivity suites such as Microsoft Office. Cloud suites such as Google Docs and Office365.
