Industrial Talk 1 Reflection

In this industrial talk, the speaker who works in TM (Telekom Malaysia), went on an overview about the main technologies that we are approaching so as the title indicates IT a look in past, present, and future. He has split it into 4 industrial revolutions. In Malaysia, as we are speaking, technology is already in a phase between the third and the fourth industrial revolution. So he discussed IoT and cloud computing. This latter is very important in advancing and developing many innovative systems as the speaker mentioned the need for 5G as it provides an incredibly fast internet which has very minimal delays in milliseconds. As all of the devices connecting together can facilitate and automate a lot of daily and routine tasks such as shopping which can be ordered right away when refrigerator feel the need for items depending on your need, it orders them right away from your online grocery shop and gets delivered right away to your home.
He spoke about the different companies that are present in the market that solves problems efficiently such as GRAB which can be very practical to order a taxi on the go, Also Food Panda that facilitates our food ordering in a remote manner, not forgetting Shoppe that provided a shopping platform for individuals and trademarked companies to sell and on the platform for the whole Malaysia which mainly rely on the shipping that is much reliable.
All of these services provided a lot of consistent jobs for people, despite that some of them took a big hit in the outbreak exposure like Grab Taxi but that was exceptional. As the market expands new jobs are founded and more lives are saved from poverty and financial issues.
He mentioned the data centers that are built in Malaysia and their use at storing and processing data as we are speaking the Microsoft data center in Johor is 40% complete which will play a major roll at advancing this era in the local and international market.
