AIESEC VIRTUAL YOUTH SPEAK FORUM 2.0
UTM-Excite has organized a Live meeting, during the Covid-19 lockdown, where 9 students have shared their experiences and background. The topic was around the Covid-19 pandemic, how does each student have dealt with during those rough times. The topics that were brought were diverse and ranged between discussing entrepreneurship, challenged being faced surrounding mental health, and how it has affected the quality of education.
Participated in the event 8 speakers, they discussed in the first topic “mental health of millennials”, it was discussed that the topic is not given enough attention from the youth, neglecting it for too long can have detrimental consequences. It is an essential part of human beings, it is important to maintain a good condition, so it can lead to better quality of life. There is no shame in seeking medical help when it’s challenging to reach to solutions that can improve mental health.
Second topic has discussed “challenges faced by education sector to offer a quality education”. No one has anticipated such a widespread lockdown, which face-to-face teaching becomes risky to the public’s health, so the world is forced into adopting new ways of teachings which are online, but the lack of direct human interaction, keeps it to a certain degree difficult to teach and ensure students attendance and comprehension, that’s why many measures and efforts were implemented to improve on that regard.
Lastly, the discussion ended up around “Future booming industries”, it has included many opportunities and industries that emerges in such tough times, and how would the students be able to take advantage of it, and also the focus on working on a progressive environment which if meet with the right mindset and the entrepreneurial spirit that can lead to a bright career path and have an active and positive impact on the economy and society.
The event was very interesting and inspiring for me to see, how does other students and entrepreneurs deal with the daily challenges during the pandemic that relates to mental health, education challenges and untapped potentials in growing industries.
