My Reflection
Leading the "World Menstrual Hygiene Day" program as its director was a profoundly rewarding experience, where I had the opportunity to contribute to breaking taboos and fostering awareness about menstrual hygiene. As the director, my primary focus was on organizing an educational event that not only addressed the importance of menstrual hygiene but also created a platform for open discussions and destigmatization surrounding menstruation.
Effective management of the program became a cornerstone of its success. From coordinating logistics to overseeing the planning process, I developed and honed my planning and organizational skills. Managing the diverse aspects of the event, including speakers, workshops, and promotional activities, allowed me to refine my ability to strategize and execute a comprehensive plan. The experience significantly enhanced my capacity to navigate the complexities of organizing large-scale events with multiple components.
Spreading awareness about menstrual hygiene was a central goal of the program. As the director, I actively worked towards creating engaging and informative content that resonated with the audience. Leveraging various communication channels, including social media, traditional media, and community outreach, I successfully disseminated information about the event and its objectives. The emphasis on awareness extended beyond the event itself, aiming to initiate an ongoing dialogue to destigmatize menstruation in society.
One of the most rewarding aspects of the program was witnessing the positive impact it had on attendees. The educational nature of the event provided valuable insights into menstrual hygiene practices, fostering a sense of empowerment and understanding among participants. Through workshops, discussions, and expert insights, attendees gained a more informed perspective on menstruation, contributing to breaking societal norms and encouraging open conversations about this natural aspect of women's health.
The experience as the director of the "World Menstrual Hygiene Day" not only deepened my understanding of the challenges surrounding menstrual hygiene but also highlighted the potential for positive change through education and awareness. The skills I acquired in planning, organizing, and communication during this program have become invaluable assets in my personal and professional journey. Moving forward, I am committed to continuing the conversation and promoting menstrual hygiene awareness, leveraging the skills developed to create a lasting impact on women's health and societal perceptions.
