Mini Report
"Suskom 2023" (Sukan Sains Komputer) was an event platform that promoted teamwork, healthy competition, and a sense of community within the Faculty of Computing. This gathering allowed students from different courses to come together and showcase their talents in various sports and esports. This includes sports like futsal, frisbee, badminton, basketball, and chess, as well as esports like Mobile Legends, EAFC, and Valorant, which create a diverse and inclusive environment. Beyond the excitement of competition, students had the opportunity to develop skills such as teamwork, strategy, and sportsmanship.
Elaborating on the graduate attributes associated with the activities, the event strongly aligns with attributes such as strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and adaptability to different game scenarios.
The outcome of "Suskom 2023" is that the participants had the opportunity to get to know and connect with fellow students from different courses within the Faculty of Computing. This facilitated the building of relationships and the creation of a stronger sense of community among participants. This not only added a competitive edge to the event but also created avenues for those interested in pursuing a more professional approach to sports and gaming.
Self-Reflection
Being a committee member for "Suskom 2023" was an incredibly rewarding experience. I felt a mix of excitement and responsibility as we worked together to organize various sports and esports activities. Being part of the activity unit and handling the badminton game as a linesman was both enjoyable and challenging. As a linesman, my role was to ensure fair play and accurate calls during the badminton matches.
In this position, I improved my ability to pay close attention and stay focused, which are crucial for making sure the game is fair. Even though there were moments when I felt unsure about some details, I managed to overcome those uncertainties. This experience not only helped me contribute to the smooth flow of the badminton matches but also supported the creation of a fair and competitive atmosphere.
Looking ahead, the experience has given me a greater understanding of the behind-the-scenes efforts that go into organizing events. I'm eager to apply these lessons in future activities, possibly taking on roles that involve planning and coordination. This journey has sparked a newfound interest in event management, and I look forward to exploring ways to enhance my skills and contribute even more to the success of upcoming events.
