Reflection on UTM INVENCMAX 4.0 COMPETITION

InvencMax 4.0 on 8th June 2024 at the Banquet Hall, UTM, I am thrilled to share that Team Alpha Wolves secured the 1st Runner-Up position with our innovative project. This experience was not just a competition but a fantastic opportunity to engage with the principles of STEAM education while tackling real-world problems.

Working on this project taught me the importance of creativity and collaboration. The platform provided by The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia - UTM Student Section (IEM-UTM SS) allowed us to brainstorm ideas, think critically, and develop solutions that could potentially address global challenges. I was amazed by the range of projects presented by other teams, which showcased diverse approaches to complex issues.

One of the key takeaways from this experience was the significance of teamwork. Each member of Team Alpha Wolves brought unique strengths to the table, and it was through our collective effort that we were able to refine our ideas and present a cohesive project. The discussions we had, the challenges we faced, and the solutions we developed fostered not only a sense of camaraderie but also personal growth.

Participating in InvencMax has reinforced my belief in the power of proactive brainstorming and critical thinking. These skills are crucial not just in competitions but in everyday problem-solving. I am grateful for the mentorship and guidance we received throughout the process, which played a vital role in our success.

Overall, this experience has motivated me to continue exploring innovative solutions and engaging with the STEAM community. I look forward to applying what I’ve learned and seeking out new opportunities to make a positive impact in the future.1717912216785.jpeg

Reflection on Computing Gala 2024

Receiving both the Best of The Best Award and the Dean’s List Award at Computing Gala’24, held on 14 June 2024 at Millésimé Hotel Iskandar Puteri and organized by Persatuan Mahasiswa Sains Komputer (PERSAKA), has been an incredibly humbling and rewarding experience. These recognitions are more than just accolades; they represent the culmination of years of dedication, balancing academics with leadership roles, and being actively involved in extracurricular activities.

Throughout my time at UTM, I made it a priority to not only excel in my studies but also to immerse myself in different opportunities beyond the classroom. Participating in hackathons and working on real-world problems pushed me to think critically and creatively. These experiences not only sharpened my problem-solving skills but also strengthened my ability to collaborate with others and take on leadership roles in a variety of settings.

What I gained from this journey is a sense of balance. It’s not just about excelling academically but about finding the value in diverse experiences that challenge you to grow in ways you never expected. The lessons I’ve learned from hackathons and extracurricular activities have been just as important as those in the classroom. They’ve given me practical skills, a strong network of peers, and the confidence to tackle complex problems head-on.

In hindsight, this balance of academics and real-world engagement has shaped me into a more well-rounded individual. I’m grateful for every challenge, opportunity, and support system along the way. The journey itself was the true reward, and these awards serve as a reminder of the growth that came from embracing all aspects of university life.

Reflection on 13TH UTM UNIVERSITY PRESIDENTS FORUM 2023

Participating as a volunteer at the 13th UTM University Presidents Forum (UPF), held from 8th to 10th August 2023 at KSL Hotel & Resort in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, and organized by UTM International, was a highly rewarding experience. As a volunteer, I had the opportunity to contribute to a major international event attended by 25 university presidents and 115 representatives from 11 countries.

One of the key takeaways from this experience was understanding the level of preparation and teamwork required to ensure smooth operations. My role involved assisting with event logistics, coordinating between different teams, and interacting with international delegates. This taught me valuable lessons in time management, problem-solving, and communication, especially when dealing with a diverse audience.

Beyond the logistical skills, the forum provided a rare opportunity to network with prominent academicians and university leaders. I gained insights into global academic trends and the importance of international collaboration. Witnessing discussions on critical issues in higher education broadened my understanding of how universities can tackle global challenges and innovate in research and learning.

For others, attending or volunteering at such events offers immense learning potential. It's a chance to witness high-level discussions on academic leadership, explore different perspectives on education, and build professional connections that can influence future career paths. Additionally, being involved in organizing an event of this scale boosts confidence and enhances one's ability to work under pressure while contributing to a meaningful cause.

Overall, the 13th UTM-UPF was a stepping stone in both personal and professional development, providing me with skills, knowledge, and a broader network to support my future endeavors.
