Strengths and weaknesses of the talk:
The talk that was held on the 29th I feel had a lot of strengths and very little weaknesses. It provided valuable insight on some very important queries most students have. The alumni all spoke very clearly and talk went extremely well. I feel that many of the questions I had were answered. They alumni frankly shared their experiences and tried to motivate us. They were quite successful at inspiring.
However, if there was something I absolutely had to criticize and call a weakness I would say that the fourth alumni being unable to attend the talk was a loss of some valuable information. If he attended the talk, we would have been able to get more knowledge and learn more.
Insight the talk provided:
The talk provided valuable insight on a topic that is a blur for many students- what to do after graduation? How to enter the job market? What sort of skills does it take to land a job related to one’s field? Our respected alumni gave their best effort to show us what sort of things we have to keep in mind and what to expect by sharing their own stories and experiences.
Motivation:
The alumni were student just like us. The effort they provided and their resolution to grasp firmly any opportunity they get brought them towards success. This is truly inspiring. They have all tried to do the best they can. Their approach to things is something we should all adapt.
Information obtained:
I learned that I need to go to a lot of competitions and try to obtain professional skills slowly. I need to undertake a lot more personal projects and start freelancing projects in order to better gain the technical skills. I also have to try to seize any opportunity I get no matter how big or small. Another information I obtained was that the time for internships is a very serious time as internships can really set a track for success or even land you jobs if the company is impressed with you.
