YONG SHEUE YEE's Reflection
During my internship at Indah Water Research Centre (IWRC), being in this company was really an unforgettable experience. Although I was there for only 3 months, they treated me well and were willing to teach me many things. At IWRC, I learned a lot in research and analysis skills, team and communication skills and also time management skills. Not only that, I can learned how to think critically to solve problem that arises when running a project. Thankfully, I am able to experience on-site visit to a 1000 bioreactor in wastewater treatment. Sometimes, I get to have free snacks and food from them. The perks of being in a small company was that we are able to communicate easily since we all shared the same open office. Lastly, I want to express my gratitude to Dr.Kamyar and Dr. Ali for the industrial training visit. I want to take the opportunity to thank my industrial supervisor, Madam Alijah for her believe and trust in me.
Pada mulanya, saya rasa teruja untuk masuk ke kelas ini kerana saya ingin tahu tentang sains dan bagaimana sains boleh membantu dalam teknologi. Tetapi, apabila saya dengar dari rakan lai, subjek ini akan mengandungi topik yang berkaitan dengan agama Islam. Saya sangat risau bahawa saya tidak dapat memahami apa yang diajar. Tetapi, saya masih berusaha untuk memahami subjek ini.
Majlis Apresiasi Gemilang is a yearly program, which was held to appreciate and commemorate everyone who worked and studied hard in UTM. The theme 'Secret Garden' was selected and the place was decorated simple and pink. The performance by Rumbia Dancer is one of the interesting part because they make the event more happening. Not only that, the speech by president of program MAG and representative of UTM motivated me very much. What was regrettable is the food was too little, cannot satisfied my hunger. Overall, this is a successful event and I hope the next event can be done better.
This is my very first year in attending MJIIT SPORT DAY. At first, I do not have the courage to participate in sport but my friend keep persuading me to join her volleyball team. Finally, I promise to join in MJIIT sport day and undergo training one week before the competition. In our first game, our opponent is from elecsy and we won the game. Next, our opponent is from chempro third year senior, the game was very tough and we lost the game because the seniors was very experienced. However, we get the chance to play in final and our opponent is chempro third year senior again. With our perseverance and confidence, finally we won the game as champion. This is my very first gold medal in utmkl and I hope this is not the last time.
Japan Day is an event held at UTMKL to introduce Japanese culture to MJIIT students and also open to the public. On Japan Day, I worked as a crew representing chemical process engineering to sell Japanese food and beverages. The Japanese food and beverages including takoyaki, yoyo ice and sirap bandung. I get to involve myself in preparing the takoyaki, I am glad because a lot of people said that the takoyaki is very delicious. Moreover, I am grateful because I have the opportunity to wear Kimono and took a few beautiful photos. Lastly, I hope I am able to attend Japan Day again in next year.
JL FEST is a Japanese Language Festival which was held at SJK(C) Lai Meng, Kuala Lumpur on April 28-29, 2018. I am a volunteer in this event and i worked in registration department. JL FEST is an event that introduce Japanese culture and as a platform of the competition to let students to show their potential. There are several competitions held such as Mr&Ms Yukata, Japanese Comedy Story Telling, Calligraphy Text and Japanese Short Drama. One of the unforgettable experience are when the Japanese foreigner asking me information in Japanese language, I was try my best to answer them because I just learned Japanese Language for 3 months. Besides, after watching the performance of Japanese Short Drama, I realize there are so many young people can speak such fluent Japanese and some also good at singing Japanese song. Lastly, I am grateful to have attend in this event, explore Japanese culture and get to interact with new people.
This is a volunteer program named as 'Circle of Star' which organized by Language Academic of UTM KL with english teachers of SMK TTDI. I worked as a facilitator and guide the form 3 students which will be sitting for PT3 this year. Throughout this event, I learned how to instruct students to discover their potential and set new goals for themselves. Not only that, I am very surprised because some students are brave enough to express their opinions in front of everyone and very active in participating in the activities. Lastly, I thank my lecturer for letting me participate in this event, I learned that no matter how old you are, people always have dreams and goals.
Throughout this presentation, I have learned a lot of things while discussing the thermodynamics project among my team members. Firstly, i am glad to have such good teammates to work together and overcome the obstacle we have while doing this project. This is because my teammates are very punctual when attending the meeting. During the meeting, they will come out with a lot of ideas and not just keep quiet. Apart from this, when i present and answer the question in front of the class, I feel that I have became more confident. Lastly, I would like to thank my lecturer, Dr. Nabilah for guiding us throughout this project and let us explore new things out of the syllabus.
