The seminar titled "Checkmate: Uni Life & Employment" offered an insightful exploration of strategies for success in both university life and the transition to the professional world. On November 18, 2023, two distinguished speakers shared their valuable insights during this virtual Zoom meeting. Wong Qin Tong, our first speaker, began the seminar by addressing the challenges of university life and the skills gap in the workforce for university students. Drawing from her practical experience as an intern at Navira Meditech Sdn. Bhd, she stressed the importance of closing this gap and highlighted the significance of soft skills for a seamless transition from academia to the workplace.
Following her, Adam Fahmi, the second speaker and a TEDxUTM Speaker, discussed the importance of social life in university. He argued that developing bonds and connections goes beyond mere charm, playing a crucial role in shaping personal and professional growth. Drawing on his own experiences, Adam emphasized the importance of networking, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
