Participating in an indoor games tournament had a significant impact on the development of my communication and teamworking skills. As an introverted person, I usually struggle to communicate effectively with others, but the tournament allowed me to work on this weakness. During the games, I was required to communicate with my teammates effectively, conveying strategies, and making quick decisions. Through this, I learned how to be more assertive in my communication, how to listen to others, and how to express my ideas clearly.
Furthermore, the tournament helped me to develop my teamworking skills. I learned how to work collaboratively with others towards a common goal. I was able to understand my teammates' strengths and weaknesses, and I could delegate tasks based on each person's abilities. I also learned how to give and receive feedback constructively, which helped us to improve our overall performance as a team.
Participating in the tournament also gave me a sense of self-strength and confidence. Although I was initially hesitant to participate due to my lack of experience in the sport, I realized that I had strengths in other areas. For example, I had excellent critical thinking skills that helped me to analyze situations quickly and come up with effective solutions. This realization boosted my confidence and allowed me to contribute more to the team.
However, I did face some challenges during the tournament. One of the most significant challenges was dealing with the pressure of performing well. As a competitive person, I put a lot of pressure on myself to do well, and this sometimes affected my performance negatively. To overcome this challenge, I learned to focus on the present moment and not worry too much about the outcome. I also talked to my teammates and coach for support, which helped me to relax and perform better.
