Content on AWS
I was truly honored to receive this certificate that showcases my achievement in finishing the AWS Cloud Foundations course. I also highly recommend those who didn't finish the course yet to do so and catch up on the great opportunity to acquire such an awesome amount of knowledge.
My direction now that I've completed the badge is to further expand my knowledge about Cloud Computing and its principals in the future. I'm also considering to take one of AWS's advanced Cloud Computing courses later on in the future. This course has been nice to follow and complete, and it would be interesting to take this knowledge further towards greater potentials.
Stay determined
Always stay determined towards your goal, no matter how hard or lengthy it was.
Have discipline
Having discipline means the ability to do things even if you don't feel like so, merely sticking to the plan. Just show up, and the rest will come after.
Do not procrastinate
Don't ever put off today's work for tomorrow. Don't let things accumulate and try to do them when there's enough time.
Always keep the end goals within your vision
Sometimes, you may lose focus and get distracted off of your main goal, that's why it's important to visualize it and keep it somewhere you come across a lot. You can do this by writing the goal and the steps that are required to reach it, attach some pictures, and place it around your desk or place of study.
You can apply all these tips not only to acquire your AWS badge, but also to reach any goal you want, be it academic or life-related. Sending you the best of wishes.
In my view, Cloud Computing is a very interesting and intriguing field that definitely acquires most technology enthusiats' attention, but I think that it just might not be among everyone's interest. All students and tech enthusiasts have different inclinations and interests, which indeed affects the way they respond to information and learning.
I also believe that passion is the ultimate drive nd motivation towards learning and research. Without it, things just become ordinary and not that appealing.
My suggestion is that the AWS Cloud Foundations course, or any related Cloud Computing courses in general, become an optional choice that students can decide whether to take it or not. This way, students who consider Cloud Computing to be not very interesting can choose not to take the course, while students who find it absolutely appealing still get the chance to go through it.
Cloud Computing is emerging very rapidly, and it unlocks a wide range of new technologies that are cutting egde, and extremely cost efficient. It is a great deal that most companes and businesses of all sizes are shifting to Cloud Computing service providers instead of remaining in the previous technologies, which are, funnily, starting to become old-fashioned. However, there are indeed a few points that every business owner needs to consider before shifting to Cloud Computing.
Internet Availability
Business owners need to consider having strong and stable internet connections, should they wish to shift their infrastructures to Cloud Computing. This is very important, since all Cloud Computing services require stable and fast internet connections to function.
The Actual Size of The Business
It's good to figure out whether the business really needs to shift to Cloud Computing or not, because not all bsuniesses do, especially extremely small ones.
After receiving the badge, I truly feel more well-informed and aware about Cloud Computing, its capabilities, and scope. This course is an awesome opportunity for those who want to get a powerful foundation on Cloud Computing and Amazon Web Services.
To me, a badge is a resemblance of one's achievement and dedication of completing a certain activity, course, or task. Badges are used all around the world, and in all fields of life. They're truly a good trophy that one can thrive to acquire, and can be a good motivation to finish the required activity or task, so that one can show it off in his academic or professional history. I truly hope that the concept of electronic badges becomes more and more common in the future.
Difficulty of getting the badge
In all honesty, getting the badge wasn't an easy task, especially with all the assignment and due work that we had throughout the semester. It was also hard to find the suitable time to watch the learning videos, since we had 6 other subjects to care for as well.
Which module was the easiest?
Module 1 was definitely the easiest and the quickest module to complete, since it's just a simple introductory about the course.
Which module was the hardest?
Module 6 was the longest and the most difficult to finish, since it had 1 lab, 2 activities, and 11 videos to watch.
The main thing that drove me to complete the AWS Cloud Foundations Course is that I was having very little information about Cloud Computing in general, but I didn't know where to begin my research about this field that was ambiguous to me, so this course was definitely the perfect opportunity for me to get properly structured knowledge about it.
How did I get the badge?
After completing the full AWS foundation course, I received an automated email from the administration of the course informing me that I need to claim my badge on a website called "Credly". I created an account and had full access to my badge, as well as the certificate which indicates the completion of my course.
Learning path from zero to hero
When I first heard that we will be having a course about cloud computing, I felt both excited and intrigued, since it wasn't that common of a subject to me. So, I started exploring the internet for some info about cloud computing. One of our group assignments helped with the accumulation of info as well. Once we've had access to the AWS course, I started watching the teaching videos and passing the modules, until I completely finished the whole course. It was a complete knowledge shift to me, from knowing absolutely nothing, until the time of receiving my certificate. Exploration outside the course also helped significantly.
When did I start?
I started the course on 16/12/2021 with some minor background about AWS and the nature of cloud computing from the previous industry talk presented by APU professor and lecturer Dr. Qousay.
I went through the first module on the first day, because I was trying to speed through it since I started it later than I should.
How did I complete the 10 modules?
The road was tough indeed, but I ended up finishing everything on time in the end. The whole course was full of knowledge, and it helped me acquire a comprehensive background about Cloud Computing generally, and AWS cloud services specifically.
What does the badge look like?
I like the concept of the badge, it reminds me of the scout days back when I was a kid.
