For this assignment, we were required to do an online dashboard report about Industry Talk 7 which talked about Data Visualization using Microsoft Power BI. Mr. Isma Redha, data engineer of iCEP showed us on how to import data into Microsoft Power BI to analyze and visualize data in different ways and way to publish our report to power BI. The dashboard is shown below.
From this assignment, I learned about how the information can be visualized in different kinds of ways and the types of data relationships such as nominal comparison, time series, correlation, ranking, deviation, distribution and part-to-whole relationships. I gained a lot from this assignment and it benefits me a lot whenever during my study or workplace in the future.
For this assignment, we were required to prepare a magazine about 5G Application in Smart Campus, Industry Talk 5 talking about the smart campus by Commscope Malaysia and Industry Talk 6 talking about 5G, WIFI6 and Emerging Network Technologies by Huawei. We need to prepare the magazine including the cover page. The images below are our magazine.
From Industry Talk 5, I realized that remote working is the trend of working mode nowadays and people started to look for network security because of the hackers who penetrate the network or IoT devices. I also learned that the smart campus will also be the look in the future in which students will experience smart cities and smart homes at the same time on the campus.
From Industry Talk 6, I realized that 5G will be a platform that can link millions of devices to a single location and support a greater range of devices. In fact, it is more reliable than other current network technologies as it can be a better transmission of data in any severe situation or state.
In this week, I was late for class because my dad was involved in a car accident near my house. I had messaged Mr. Hairudin that I'll be late for class. I was able to enter the class but it ends 10 minutes later after I entered the class. I asked my friends about what happened in class and anything that I need to pay attention to.
In this week, Mr. Hairudin gave a brief about project 2 and also assignment 4. We also had a QnA session for the project and assignment. After class, we did a meeting to discuss project 2 and assignment 4.
Class on week 11 was canceled because of an unfortunate flash flood incident that occurred in Malaysia and it had affected UTM students living in those areas as one of the campuses of UTM was located in the state which affected by the flood and also students studying from home who actually lived in those areas. The university gave us a notice about the lecture will be postponed so that students who were affected can be given time to manage their things and feelings.
In week 12, it was the first TIS class for 2022 !! We learned chapter 12 (System Analysis and Design) and chapter 13 (Programming and Languages). The lecture was tough compared to other chapters as it contained flowcharts and hierarchy of system analysis and design which I was bad at this thing...
In this week, we learned chapter 10 (Information Systems) and chapter 11 (Database). It is quite complicated for me because I never studied anything related. But still, this lecture was really fun and interesting for chapter 11. I learned about how information is organized in fields, records, tables and databases and the different types of databases and structures.
We didn't have class this week and we decided to discuss our assignment and project through Discord. We discussed the low fidelity prototype project and we had struggled with some problems and misunderstandings of that project. It took us a few hours to actually understand the problems and we also divided tasks evenly for everyone. This discussion was well wrapped.
For Assignment 2, we were given that we need to prepare newsletters on Cloud Computing Service Provider, Industry Talk 3 talking about Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Industry Talk 4 talking about Augmented Reality (AR). The industry talk 3 was held on 15th November 2021 starting at 3.00 until 4.30 p.m. The speaker of this industry talk, Dr. Qussay Al-Maatouk talked about cloud computing. On the other hand, industry talk 4 was held on 18th November 2021 conducted by Dr. Ruzimi Mohamed, the founder of OZEL Sdn. Bhd. starting from 9.00 to 10.30 p.m. He mentioned the concept of AR and the challenges with AR to us. This is the newsletter prepared by Group 6 below.
From industry talk 3, I learned that cloud computing is the on-demand delivery of computer power, database, storage, applications and other IT resources via the internet. I also thought about how it will be of IT in the future. In fact, I also realized the difference between traditional computing and cloud computing. On the other hand, I also learned about the advantages of the implementation of AWS and cloud computing.
From industry talk 4, I learned that AR is one of the most popular technical trends nowadays and its popularity will only increase as AR-capable smartphones and other devices become more widely available. By employing the computer's vision to interpret the surrounding physical environment, AR merges the real and virtual worlds. It uses cameras to detect and capture items in real-time to allow for real-time interaction.
In this week, we joined in an industry talk conducted by Mr. Nicholas Yong, Executive Industry Solution Manager for Asia Pacific Region. The industry talk was talking about 5G and WIFI 6. The talk was interesting and I was very excited about the 5G technology. But I missed out on some parts as I was a bit sleepy so I need to revise those parts that I missed.
