The " I am a Fighter" program was held on 24 April 2021 which was on Saturday and the program started on 2.30 pm until 4.00 pm. The program was held on Cisco Webex platform and also at the same time streamed in Facebook live. The aim of the program was to create awareness regarding the cancer to the society and gain more knowledge about it. The reason why I joined the program is because I think that the content of the program is interesting and useful for me and also for the society. In my opinion, many more communities out there are unaware of the importance of knowledge of caring for cancer patients. Therefore, I joined the program to help the community to learn more about how to care for cancer patients not only physically, but mentally.
Through the program, the graduate attribute that I gained is communication skills. To ensure that the program run smoothly, communication is vital between the committee members. As I had to make sure that the Kahoot games run smoothly, I am able to communicate wells with the other committee members even though I met them for the first time. The program really made me realize the importance of communication in order to achieve the goals. The other graduate attribute that I gained related with this program is leadership and teamworking skills. The program taught me the importance of teamworking as I saw the positive outcome from the cooperation from all of the committee members.
The session in the program was explanation about how to become a cancer caregiver from psychological perspective by Mr Mansurni Abadi, UKM Master Anthropology. The program really deliver beneficial knowledge to the community about the ways to handle patient who suffer from cancer physically and mentally. At the end of the program, there were activity which was Kahoot games and prizes were provided for the winner. The program also encourage and raise fund from the community to be donated to the cancer patient in the hospital.
