1) Mini Report
Kembara Muslim was a program conducted by PMI UTM to the first year who just entering degree life. The objective of this program is to let the participants seek back what is the true meaning of becoming a good Muslim. During the first day, the facilitators were giving a talk to motivate the first years and adjust to university life. It was like a seminar and there was also a QnA session to engage more with the speaker. After that, we took a rest in the mosque before proceeding to the next day. The next day was more challenging as the activities took place in Tanjung Balau beach. I was assigned to a team with total strangers from different faculties. Thus, it needs confidence and communication skill to able to communicate with group members. The activity was similar to a race where the participant needs to answer the question before they can proceed to the next destination.
2) Self Reflection
From the program, I have learned that communication is very important because I have to associate with new people. It would put me at a disadvantage if I did not approach or try to talk to them since we had to work together to solve some problems. However, since then, I have been contacting my teammates and sharing about our life. My group had the best teamwork, we helped each other if a member did not know to answer and we tried our best to support our knowledge. If I did not know something, there are possibilities that other members might know something. Hence, teamwork is very important. Regardless, this program was quite challenging for me since I was not familiar with Islamic history and I have the least knowledge in my group. I had been asked several questions regarding that topic and I struggled a bit to answer the questions. Fortunately, my group was there and helped me through it.
