SC: BBQ/SPRING CLEANING PARTICIPANTS (SCSR FAMILY DAY) /
Communication Skills, Leadership and Teamworking Skills, Adaptability

1) Mini Report

This program has involved all network students from the first year to the fourth year. The objective was to get to know each other and strengthen the bond. It started by preparing the meals such as spaghetti, fried rice, mash potato, and more. There was a group of students who were in charge to buy the groceries needed. Groups were formed to handle each meal. I was assigned to a spaghetti group that has to make two types of flavor, bolognese, and carbonara. As I am just a first-year student, my task was to assists the seniors. The major event started at night at Balai Cerap with few words from the director of the school of computing. Then, the students were allowed to take the meals prepared by the preparation group. While eating, the nights were filled with fun activities such as puzzle games which required the students to find other pieces held by other students, lucky draw, and finished with the photo session by each batch.

2) Self Reflection

From this program, I have learned that teamwork makes a dream work. We had faced so many shortcomings while preparing for this event such as not enough ingredients, time shortage, and more. However, we managed to overcome this by sharing ideas, helping each other out, and seek for advice from our lecturer, Ms. Marina. Since I was a first-year and did not know any seniors yet, I was eager to get to know them. However, I was too shy to approach them and this has been a challenge for me for the whole day. However, I managed to overcome that while working with them in preparing the meals. It naturally happened as we had to help each other and the process of making the meals made me adapt to the environment. Moreover, communication played a big part in this event as we exchanged information and become engaged.
