TECHNOLOGY & INFORMATION SYSTEM

Technology is supposed to make our lives easier, allowing us to do things more quickly and efficiently. But too often it seems to make  things  harder,  leaving us with fifty-button  remote  controls, digital cameras with hundreds of mysterious features and book-length manuals, and cars with dashboard systems worthy of  the space shuttle. The amount of experience I gathered through this course I believe this going to be a savior for my future. All those real-life difficulties I faced it was never possible to get rid from this by only getting bookish knowledge. Nothing is better that hands-on. And the exact thing we did through out this semester. The design thinking project taught me how to handle critical situations, how to deal with clients and also how to manage all the group members to make a thing visible. I am really proud to have a lecturer like Ms. Adila, whose instruction not only showed path but also it was inspiring and motivated us to get rid from all the obstacles.

The industrial visit went successfully. CICT exhibition showcases a variety of new concepts, and technologies. The presenters know what they are explaining. The staff are friendly and helpful. We learn that technology does not necessarily need to be expensive and revolutionary, but a solution in improving human quality of living. A concept that came from a simple idea, if are execute could potentially bring a new solution in fixing small to world problems.

a) WHAT IS YOUR GOAL/DREAM WITH REGARD TO YOUR COURSE/PROGRAM?

From our childhood, we were always interested in computers. we used to stand by people when they were using a computer just to see how it works. So, from a very young age we started exploring everything that can be done through a computer and learning new thing. The reason for our choosing this course/program is no different. Our dream is to be a programmer and that is what we are hoping to achieve from this course/program. Moreover, we hope to learn about various aspects of professional life as well as academic knowledge. But obviously academics do come first in priority for us. If everything is well and all then in the future this course/program will help us to lead a professional life which is complementary to our interests in life.

b) HOW DOES THIS VISIT IMPACT ON YOUR GOAL/DREAM WITH REGARD TO YOUR PROGRAM?

The visit we made to the CICT of UTM was actually very insightful and necessary. There we came to know of various kinds of technologies. We were informed about technologies that were invented a long time ago as well as modern technologies and the progress that the industry has seen travelling from one generation to another. We took notes of all the devices and equipment that were on show there. Some of the devices were very baffling to me as they were quite huge compared to their current iterations and designs. It comes to show that the technological industry has made great strides in recent years and a lot of ground breaking improvements have been made to the devices that once were uncomfortable to use.

c) WHAT IS THE ACTION /IMPROVEMENT /PLAN NECESSARY FOR YOU TO IMPROVE YOUR POTENTIAL IN THE INDUSTRY? We need to enhance our performance in software engineering skills by going to workshops to improve what we are lacking. We also need to improve our communication skills as it will benefit us in the future when doing a presentation. Lastly, we need to improve our knowledge in various aspects, not only in software engineering but also aspects such as politics and economy so it will be helpful in the future.
