Reflection on French Lesson

pic.png

French is one of the world’s major languages. It is an official language not just in France, but in parts of Belgium and Switzerland, Monaco and Canada. It is an official or a main second language in 55 countries worldwide, and is reputed to be the foreign language which is most widely used in international communications, after English. Is that mean I can travel all around the world after I finished my lessons ?!?!? coolcool

So, I'm very grateful that I have this opportunity to learn French as one of my courses in UTM. Although it is very hard to learn a foreign language at the beginning as it troubled me a lot especially I know nothing about French except the common salutation words--BONJOUR and MERCI BEAUCOUP.

The pronunciation of French words is very hard to learn because it is very different from English pronunciation besides the spelling of the words. For example, we pronounce Pierre Cardin as Pierre Cardin but in French it is pronounce as Carda. The craziest part of French is that every single word has its own gender and you’ll need to use the correct articles for them.

Fortunately, I was able to pickup basic French with the supports and help from my lecturer and friends. Now, I am able to speak some French with the correct pronunciation or even write an essay about myself. I really appreciate that I have this chance to learn a such unique and romance language and have a great lecturer who always answer our question and teach us patiently.

I hope that one day I would get a chance to visit Paris, France- the city of romance and speak in the way how French citizens spoke.

#ilovebonjour
