Program: Start Up! 23
Organizer: PERSAKA Club
Venue: Faculty of Computing
I had the privilege of being part of the Technical Team for the Start-Up! '23 event as a Head of the unit. Our main responsibility was to find an inspiring speaker who could bring valuable insights to the event attendees. It was an exciting opportunity to contribute to an event dedicated to fostering innovation and collaboration among entrepreneurs.
Our team was composed of four members, each bringing unique skills and perspectives to the table. We collaborated effectively, with clear roles and responsibilities assigned to each team member. This division of tasks streamlined our efforts and made our work more efficient.
To start, we conducted a needs assessment to understand the audience's interests and the event's theme better. This involved surveys and discussions with potential attendees to identify specific topics and areas of expertise that would resonate with them.
Next, we embarked on thorough research to identify potential speakers who were renowned in the startup and entrepreneurial ecosystem. We considered factors such as their reputation in the industry, past speaking engagements, and how well their expertise aligned with the event's goals.
Once we had a list of potential speakers, we reached out to them with personalized invitations, highlighting how their participation would benefit Start Up! '23. This part of the process required effective communication skills and persuasive outreach.
Negotiations played a crucial role in securing the right speaker. We had to availability, and the content of the presentation to ensure a perfect fit for the event's objectives. After reaching an agreement, we finalized contracts that outlined the speaker's role, compensation, and logistical requirements.
While we achieved our primary goal, we did face challenges, such as coordinating schedules. However, these challenges provided valuable lessons in negotiation and time management.
In conclusion, my involvement in the Protocol Team for Start Up! '23 was a rewarding experience. We successfully identified and secured an inspiring speaker who will undoubtedly contribute to the event's success. This experience enhanced my skills in event planning, negotiation, and teamwork. I'm grateful for this opportunity and look forward to a remarkable Start Up! '23 event.
