PROBABILITY & STATISTICAL DATA ANALYSIS

This course is designed to introduce some statistical techniques as tools to analyze the data. In the beginning the students will be exposed with various forms of data. The data represented by the different types of variables are derived from different sources; daily and industrial activities. The analysis begins with the data representation visually. The course will also explore some methods of parameter estimation from different distributions. Further data analysis is conducted by introducing the hypothesis testing. Some models are employed to fit groups of data. At the end of course the students should be able to apply some statistical models in analysing data using available software.

Lecturer

Dr, Chan Weng Howe

Project 2 PSDA RSS

First and foremost, I would express my gratitude to Dr. Chan Weng Howe for his assistances and guidance for completing this project 2. As project 2 are more focus on our skills in analyzing and summarising secondary data, my teammates and I chose the dataset given by our lecture since we wanted to reduce our time in findings other relevant dataset as more assignments were given to us in other subjects. Then, we discussed and separated each tasks on week 12.

Truthfully, it was exhausting and busy a week to complete project 2 as many other subjects also had many ongoing submissions especially for HCI AA. But, I was glad that my team and I started doing project 2 from the beginning. Thus, we kind of completed the project 2 early. Then, when submitting individual assignment for project 2 in e-portfolio, I realized that this website had a few flaws as it always had some problems in connecting it. Fortunately, I could submit my reflection successfully. Overall, I am relieved to be able to go through this subject throughout this semester and healthy from Covid 19.

Project 1 PSDA RSS

Everything was new experiences to me. We had briefly meeting with our lecturer, Dr. Chan Weng Howe about project 1 on week 3 in semester 2 of our year 1. Actually, it was not something as an undergraduate student to go through this type of assessments. From creating group members was quite a challenge for us but luckily I had found reliable teammates that I could count on. We decide on doing case study about online shopping trends before and after Covid 19 occurrences which was vital as to analysis and discuss about the differences between it during pandemic session. With the help of  Google Forms application, we succeed in getting 67 people of sample sizes after we got the proposal's approvement. Then, we analyzed the results and constructed different kinds of graph using rstudio apps. Finally, we submitted the project.
