Reflection on Technology & Information System
Lecture Name : Dr Sharin Hazlin Huspi
What I've discovered that I would prefer not to ever stop the long life learning procedure. I need to be a deep-rooted student. The more I learn and investigate, the more I see that looks profitable and fascinating that needs investigating. However, more radically, I have additionally found that it isn't just about me and my learning procedure. On account of innovation, there are currently such a significant number of better approaches to investigate and learn. Or maybe, the genuine significance turns out to be the manner by which I am ready to rouse and inspire others (my understudies) with discovering that utilizes innovation as an impetus.
I have come to comprehend that learning TIS subject to connect with others. Hearing and seeing the thoughts and encounters of others, sharing my thoughts, examining and gaining from one another produces a wealth of truth and learning. Innovation cultivates this association among numerous students. Strengthening originates from finding various approaches to indicate understudies that innovation can push them to maybe take in more effectively and on a more elevated amount. This thus causes them to build up their adoration for deep-rooted learning. The strengthening proceeds as I make circumstances for learning so that understudies choose what they have to realize and how they will approach learning it. The utilization of innovation makes numerous open doors for self-coordinated learning.

MDEC Industrial Talk
INTRODUCTION
On 24th September 25, 2018, Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation or MDEC had given a talk about what is MDEC and GLOW. The speaker, Mr. Mohd Ihsanuddin Jamhari was given the talk on that day.
MDEC was launched in 1996 as one of the government initiatives to pioneer the transformation of digital market in Malaysia. MDEC provides a platform for anyone interested to pursue income in the digital market. This also can close the income gap between low – class income and high – class income. MDEC was consisting of 3 main platforms; eUsahawan, which is a platform where small micro-entrepreneur can promote their product, without any fees such as rental for places. There also have Erezeki for a local platform to gain up their reputation as an entrepreneur and their product. Lastly, MDEC also provides an alternative platform named Global Online Workforce (GLOW). Many aspects that differentiate GLOW with other platforms that MDEC provided such as the type of products/services, people that qualified to participate, and how much the cost that will be used.
GLOW also have partnerships with a handful of a few famous marketers in Malaysia such as Kerja Digital, 123RF limited, Supahands, Ezyspark and many more. they also have a partnership with international freelancing agents such as Upwork Global Inc and Freelancer International Pty Limited. This shows how good GLOW program to keep maintaining hundreds of freelancing job on the program itself.
OVERVIEW
Global Online Workforce (GLOW) objectives are:
- To build high-skilled digital-worker community among Malaysian.
- Introduced to people about an alternative career as a freelancer through digital platform income.
- Produce and promote services that can be provided in the world.
One of the profits to anyone that joins GLOW is the flexibility to maintain your life with your work time. This is mainly because the program is projected digital based, so people don’t need to sit in the office cubicle from 8 a.m to 5 p.m every single day. They can manage their time to accomplish the work given from the GLOW crowdsourcing. Crowdsourcing can be defined as a method where work being offered in the digital platform, as for this case, GLOW platform.
To join Glow Online Workforce, MDEC offered 3 choices, which are Fast Track, High Learning Institution, and Premium Program. Fast Track program is for a freelancer, qualified graduates either from the private sector or public admission. Next, High Learning Institution will be offered to graduates from the Faculty of Science Computer, Creative Design, Education, Business Administration, and any related fields, High Learning Institution are different from Fast Track because High Learning Institution participant will be guided for the whole semester based on subject semester, or fixed September semester while Fast Track training only consists of individual mentoring for 2 days and followed by online monitoring for 10 days. Lastly, Premium Program is the only program offered which the participant has to pay a minimum of RM2, 500 fees (fees may vary based on package provided). The fees will cover the expenses of 14 days of program and 5 days mentoring,
REFLECTION
MDEC talks about GLOW give me a new perspective about how the government has provided us especially to the youngster like me to gain not just an alternative income, but also a platform to gain such knowledge about how e-commerce. As GLOW platform are not limited to project in Malaysia, this will give me a great experience on how to communicate in a professional way to the international market. With the program provided for Undergraduates like me, this is a go-to opportunity for me to grab because in Industrial 4.0, 15 major fields will emerge and roughly 7.1 million jobs will be lost for the upcoming revolution (Charles McLellan, 2017).
Furthermore, with the competition to gain and success in the IT field, GLOW program was a stepping stone for me improving and become one step ahead from other people. As technology grows exponentially, the demand for professional and experience also getting higher. So, for me to join GLOW is the best choice to make, this is mainly because all the benefit is heavily on my side such as experience that I can gain from GLOW program, especially the High Learning Institution program.
As a student, money was one of the issues that can be classified as a universal problem. for that, joining GLOW program not just give me an experience, it also provided me as a passive income for a full-time undergraduate student. I don't need to hustle around in weekend just to gain couple bucks for myself, now I can freelancing a job just from my room. It's convenient as it sounds. On a side note, GLOW does not charge any fees or percentage from your profit. 100% the payment you get are all yours.
CONCLUSION
Overall, MDEC had provided an excellent platform for millennials like me to have a place and job suitable with Industrial 4.0 over time. No more excuse such as no jobs for fresh graduates, too many graduates is out of job and etc. As time goes by, working in freelancing and project-based job become more important and might be compulsory in a certain field, so, this program is not only beneficial to the job searcher, it also benefits the client in terms of cut costing, time-saving and reducing any unnecessary overhead cost that they need to bear.
Other than that, I also have a few suggestions regarding how to improve the GLOW programs. First off, they should do more campaign and promoting all of E-Rezeki program especially for those who have the expertise. as I can tell, most of the people in the hall, including me don't know anything about the GLOW program before. This is such a waste because more people can get benefit from this program only if they got the exposure like talks, campaign and many more ways to acknowledge them about the E-Rezeki platform. Second, as Industrial 4.0 will create more jobs opportunity in IT field, MDEC should give other non-related IT people to join the GLOW program. In my opinion, giving other people to join the program not also increase and balance the supply-demand in Online jobs.
Finally, I can conclude that GLOW is an extremely important program provided by MDEC for us to compete in the upcoming Industrial Revolution 4.0. I hope this program can be improved in a certain section and continue to provide us with freelancing and project-based job especially for Data Scientist in the future.

REFLECTION
In a nutshell, this CIMB visit gave us a huge benefit to our own goals. This is because, as a Data Scientist / Data Engineer to be, this visit gave us a brief of surface of what will us be facing for the future. Furthermore, the visit also shows us about how important to grab any opportunity especially in data management & IT related field which are one of the study requirement in our course, SCSP. Then, the visit also focused us about the internship, which one of the difference of our course than other. This is because with 2u2i, we need to prepare to do an internship for a whole year (2 semesters). CIMB management already gave us a brief of explanations about how to cop and secures an internship especially in CIMB.
In conjunction with that, there are various action need to be taken by ourselves to improve our potential in the industry. One of the actions that need to be taken generally, we need to focus on our study and try to score on it but we also need to maintain our curriculum such as joining any clubs in university. This is important because scoring in academic alone doesn’t give us the social networking and soft skill required in job environment. Next, we also need to improve our social interaction and soft skills. Social interactions, either casual communication or professional are very important for building a large social network for our future preferences. Soft skill such as presentation skills, interviews and many more also are important for us to improve to ease us in the future.
Finally, a few plans need to be construct as in to improve our potential in in this industry especially the growth and new wave of Industry Revolution 4.0. One of crucial plan need to be done is a set of frameworks of what specific industry or field that we want to join in the next 5/6 years ahead. With the vast moving world, Industry 4.0 will be any nearby. Therefore frameworks of future planning need to be done to help us prepare of any possibilities that might be happen .

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
Organization structure
ADAX is a platform initiated by MDEC to develop the ecosystem, build a critical mass of talent pool in the Big Data Analytics Category and to foster collaboration among businesses, start-ups, academia and professionals so that Data Analytics becomes an integral part of business innovation and decision making. The ADAX platform was first introduced during the MSC Malaysia implementation Council Meeting in October 2015 as a regional platform that brings together innovative talent development models and showcases the latest Big Data Analytics (BDA) technologies. Sharala Axryd is the Founder of The Center of Applied Data Science as well as the CEO of ADAX.
Services
ADAX offers training, advocacy and partnership.
In training, ADAX opens doors for training partners seeking appointments via a governance process. ADAX simplifies quality checks before renewal of training partners. ADAX does not endorse any Training Providers directly. Instead, selections will be done through a selection committee. ADAX does not conduct trainings on behalf of any training partners. Each provider is responsible for their own training modules. ADAX does not provide consultancy services.
In advocacy, ADAX acts as a benchmark for big data analytic syllabus and a platform for professional sharing among the industry. ADAX provides crucial knowledge needed organizations that would like to explore the fundamentals of data in other data-driven sectors especially for the purpose of talent development. ADAX also serves as a platform to connect businesses with industry partners. However, they does not provide blueprints for organizations to become data driven.
In partnership, ADAX are proud partners with key industry players that share similar goals in contributing towards the growth of the BDA ecosystem. Despite that, ADAX does not have favorites or any preferable industry partner.
Achievements
ADAX’s training partner, Statistical Analysis System (SAS) Malaysia breaks record with outstanding 2017 achievements. SAS Malaysia has recorded more than 170% increase in certifications awarded from 2016 and this has put Malaysia in top 15 of the world. The Department of Statistics Malaysia is also the first national department in the world to have SAS certified data scientists totaling up to 9 individuals and is the largest. This was announced recently at the SAS Education Day held at SAS Training Centre, Kuala Lumpur.
ADAX has surpassed its 2017 target and is looking at healthy growth for 2018. ADAX has contributed to more than 30% of data professionals delivered. The focus for 2018 will be the year of implementation and adoption of data analytics in businesses and SMEs. This is in line with the government’s vision to develop the National Al framework, which is an expansion from the National BDA framework.
REFLECTIONS
My goals are to be the great data scientist and this visit was really gives me some positive vibes to pursue my dream through hard and thin. Moreover, I want to people around the world give some spaces for my attribution to the nation as well as make Malaysia to be proud of. As the years grow, more and more technologies are growing, the industries may needed more IT workers especially data analyst. Since the course of Data Engineering is still strange in someone’s ears, but this actually a big chance for us to maintain the percentage of the uses of technologies in industry.
ADAX is the right platform for many people out there to learn more about the data analytics. It is the platform for professional sharing among the industry. As a data engineer student, it is wise for us to explore our course relatable courses in order to give a clear picture of our futures as data engineers will become one of the most wanted jobs around the globe. In this era which is full of challenges and competitions, everyone needs to improve themselves to maintain the quality of work. Thus, ADAX provides training to implant the ability of developing ecosystem, build a critical mass of talent pool in Big Data Analytics category and to foster collaboration among businesses, start-ups, academia and professionals so that Data Analytics becomes an integral part of business innovation and decision making.
ADAX is preferable by many to brush their skills towards becoming data scientists as their achievements is enough to tell how good they are. As the country needs 20,000 data professionals by 2020, we will be one of them in coming years and they are suggested to get training under ADAX. Benefits that we can get by training under ADAX is we will gain mentor ship with industry experienced data scientists, relevant business exposure and are provided an allowance during the training sessions and industry placement. Lastly, I would like to say that ADAX is a marvelous platform brought up by MDEC in order to achieve country goal and to stand level with growing countries and also be ready to face the Industrial Revolution 4.0.
