Title: GLOBAL VILLAGE 2020 - ON THE SAME EARTH

Mini-Report

AIESEC is a global nonprofit organization that strives to bring peace through understanding by working towards the Sustainability Development Goals set by the United Nations. Global Village is an annual event hosted by every AIESEC entity in the world. This includes AIESEC in Johor Bahru. The objective of global village is to bring an understanding of different cultures all around the world. As AIESEC believes that the method to bring world peace is by understanding each other. Global Village is an event that lasts around 5 hours. The event involves different countries from all over the world where people from said countries participate in the event. Each culture showcases their culture by using different methods. There is a show, a presentation, a food boothe, pictures, videos and more. All of these are of the culture that they have so that they are able to show it to everyone and share the different cultures they have.

Self-Reflection

My role in this event was as a member of AIESEC. I was not an organizer of the event, but I was a part of the booth team whereby we got to open up the Global Volunteer program booth. We promoted the Global Volunteer program to the attendees of the event so that they may go abroad and volunteer for a better cause. This event was wonderful to attend as part of the team. I got to meet, interact with, and watch many of the people that come from different countries such as Indonesia, Vietnam, and more.
