Reflection

First of all, I would like to express my thanks of gratitude to my lecturer, Dr Sharin Hazlin Binti Huspi which teach me along this semester. Dr Sharin is very patient when teaching us as we face the problem, Dr Sharin will explain to us until it is clear and understandable. Besides, when we have any problem on assignment or project, Dr Sharin will explain to us so that we can understand that what we should do on it. After learning this course, I had learned that how to classify and analyse the data by using the information given. There are several ways for us to analyse the data for example we can calculate the probability and undergo a hypothesis test to determine whether the data collected is in our estimated range of population or not. It is very useful when we need to do a huge population, we are not able to collect all the data for the huge population. Throughout the lesson learning in this course, we can do an analysis based on the sample data to make it easier in getting a conclusion. Furthermore, we can determine the relationship of different variable. I believe that it took an important place in deciding the plan so that we can focus on the action that will give us benefits.

Reflection on Project 2

In this project, we required to choose one of the datasets to do the analysis on it. After discussing in our group, we select the "Countries Data" and set the title on "The Study of Life Expectancy, Growth Rate and Mortality Rate among Countries". Therefore, we are using the variable of Life Expectancy, Growth Rate and Mortality Rate from the dataset. After we divide the task, I need to be responsible for the Regression test. It is a test to determine the relationship between different variable. I am not confident about this project since it is different when solving the question which gives the exact information and the dataset without information. However, after I do some searching on the regression, I believe that I can solve this problem before the deadline given by lecturer.

The R studio is a brand new thing for us, and we need to use it to do the project. It is a little bit hard for me because the R code is different compared to the C++ language and assembly language. Although it becomes a problem for me, I can solve the project with the help of my group members and the teaching video provide by Dr Sharin. I really appreciate it. The R studio is very useful to analyse data after I understand the function of it and I am very happy that I am able to learn a new thing so that it might become the key to solve my trouble in the future.

Lastly, thanks to my group members who give the high cooperation when doing the project. With your cooperation, I believe that everything can be solved no matter the project work or daily discussion. Thanks again to Dr Sharin who give us assistance when we do the project work.

Result of Project 2

Hypothesis 1 Sample Test:

At 5% significance level, we have sufficient evidence to conclude that the sample mean mortality rate is smaller than 8.90.

Correlation:

There is a moderate positive linear relationship between mortality rate and growth rate.

Regression:

There is a linear relationship exist between mortality rate and life expectancy.

Goodness of Fit Test:

At 5% significance level, we have sufficient evidence to conclude that the proportion of life expectancy of these 10 countries (Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, American Samoa, Andorra, Angola, Anguilla, Antarctica, Antigua and Barbuda,  and Arctic Ocean) is different from each other.
