Industrial Training at Tuanku Jaafar Power Station

About 12 weeks of industrial training, I manage to gain a lot of experience and knowledge with the guidance of the TJPS staffs whether the engineer, technician and all the officer.  The training here taught a lot on how the electricity is being generated by the power station system. I also learned about the technical works that can be linked with the mechanical subject that were taught at my university.

In addition, my training at Tuanku Ja’afar Power Station has taught me a lot of interesting technological science and engineering knowledge. The basic principles of Thermodynamics, Mechanics of Fluid and Mechanic of Machine and Vibration that I have learnt in university were related and can be apply in the power plant. Furthermore, I got such a clear vision and better understandings of the knowledge that has been learnt in classes. During the training sessions, I also gained basic understanding of the main system and operation in the power plant.  Safety, quality control, environment and management were among the important things to understand in engineering fields.  With this real work situation, I gained more self-disciplined in order to gain more knowledge in the power plant.

I also learn about the generic knowledge on how to communicate with the staffs from various ranks. Moreover, I also learn how to manage my time wisely and dealing with problems at work independently. The most important thing that I had learned is, we must build good relationship with all staffs. In the working place, they are like our family members that will give us a hand when we need it.  This situation match with the TJPS motto, “A great place where we enjoy working together.” 

Lastly, I would like to thank to all the TJPS staffs for their guidance, help and teachings. I appreciated all experiences of real life situations at work and how to cope with it during my training at TJPS. May this experiences will benefit me in order to apply it in the real work situation one day soon.
