MINI REPORT
The Carnival of Martial Arts (COMA) is a physical event that involves collaboration with government organizations, non-government organizations, and clubs in UTM, including Silat Gayong, Pencak Silat, Taekwondo, and the Combat Club, all of which will be participating in this event. The primary purpose of this event is to introduce each club's specialty and their respective martial arts to UTM’s students and the community.
The carnival will host various programs, including forums discussing basic self-defense techniques, a food truck festival, performances by each club, and the Knight Neon Run. This event aims to provide numerous benefits to participants, particularly women, by raising awareness about the fundamental aspects of self-defense to prevent any unwanted incidents. Ultimately, the carnival aims to foster unity among UTM’s students and offer an enjoyable and educational experience.
SELF REFLECTION
As a vital part of the Carnival of Martial Arts event, I had the privilege of contributing as a member of the registration unit, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience for participants. Beyond my responsibilities within the unit, being part of this event was an enriching experience that allowed me to witness the fusion of martial arts, cultural exchange, and community engagement.
The event itself was a vibrant amalgamation of diverse martial arts clubs like Silat Gayong, Pencak Silat, Taekwondo, and the Combat Club. It provided a unique platform for these clubs to showcase their specialties, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of various martial arts forms among UTM’s students and the community.
Moreover, the event's programs, such as forums on basic self-defense techniques, a delightful food truck festival, captivating performances by each club, and the thrilling Knight Neon Run, collectively contributed to its success. The emphasis on self-awareness and self-defense, especially for women, was particularly commendable, serving as an educational and empowering aspect of the carnival.
My involvement in the registration unit was just a part of the bigger picture, contributing to the event's overall success. It was truly gratifying to witness how the Carnival of Martial Arts united UTM’s students, strengthened community bonds, and provided a platform for cultural exchange, leaving a lasting and enjoyable experience for all participants.
