SECR1213-04 (Network Communications)

This course introduces the fundamentals of computer network and data communications which includes protocols, OSI model network layers, IPv4 addressing, Network Address Translation (NAT), Routing algorithms, error detection and correction techniques, 802.11 protocols, cellular networks.

2) Ability to create a building floor plan.

3) Ability to identify the project stakeholder's requirement.

4) Ability to determine the project feasibility.

5) Ability to find out most suitable network equipment based on the analysis of stakeholder's requirement, product specification, reviews, and cost.

6) Ability to determine the cabling layout for a building and total length required.

7) Ability to determine the total device connections required.

8) Ability to distribute and assign IPv4 address to each of the end devices.

9) Ability to work as a team to study, investigate, analyze the network design case study.

10) Ability to have an interactive communication and critical thinking with team to address the network design case study more effective and efficiently.
