The Lunar New Year Celebration event held on 25 March 2023 organized by Kelab Bahasa Mandarin UTM, was a vibrant and joyous occasion that brought together people of different cultures to commemorate the arrival of the Lunar New Year. The event showcased a rich tapestry of traditions, performances, and activities that created a truly immersive experience for attendees. Cultural displays and exhibitions adorned the venue, offering a glimpse into the customs and symbolism associated with the Lunar New Year. From intricate decorations to traditional artifacts, these exhibits provided valuable insights into the significance and history of the festival.

The event also featured a variety of mesmerizing performances, including martial arts demonstrations, Chinese yo-yo, and 24 Festive Drum which delighted the audience and showcased the vibrancy of Lunar New Year celebrations. The event culminated in a red envelope exchange, where attendees shared blessings and good wishes by exchanging red envelopes containing monetary gifts, adding an element of excitement and community spirit to the celebration. As a participant of this Lunar Chinese New Year event, attending this event was a deeply enriching experience that allowed me to reflect on the importance of cultural diversity and develop valuable graduate attributes and skills. The event provided me with an opportunity to cultivate cultural intelligence and intercultural communication skills as I interacted with individuals from different cultural backgrounds, immersing myself in the customs, traditions, and symbolism associated with the Lunar New Year. Witnessing the captivating performances, such as, and martial arts demonstrations, Chinese yo-yo, and 24 Festive Drum instilled in me the values of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. These performances served as a reminder of the significance of resilience and determination in achieving personal and professional goals. The culinary delights offered at the event exposed me to a variety of flavors and cuisines, expanding my culinary literacy and fostering open-mindedness towards diverse culinary traditions. Finally, engaging in the red envelope exchange encouraged me to practice social etiquette, gratitude, and generosity as I shared blessings and good wishes with others. Overall, attending the Lunar New Year Celebration event not only brought me joy and cultural appreciation but also helped me develop important graduate attributes and skills such as cultural intelligence, intercultural communication, teamwork, culinary literacy, and social etiquette.
