As a member of the activity unit in OPERA'22, joining the activities provided a valuable opportunity for me to contribute to the event and engage with the residents of Kolej Tun Dr Ismail. Participating in the haunted house activity allowed me to showcase my creativity and organizational skills. It was an exciting experience to design and set up a spooky environment that would entertain and thrill the participants. Collaborating with other committee members, I played a role in coordinating tasks and ensuring the smooth execution of the haunted house. This allowed me to develop teamwork and leadership skills while contributing to the overall success of the program.
In terms of the UTM Graduate Attributes, several were focused on during the activities. Communication skills were essential in engaging with participants, conveying information effectively, and creating a captivating haunted house promoting video. Thinking skills were utilized in planning and designing the haunted house layout, considering safety measures, and strategizing the scare elements to create an immersive experience. Leadership and teamworking skills were developed through collaboration with other committee members and coordinating tasks related to the haunted house. Adaptability was crucial in adapting to changing circumstances and finding creative solutions to challenges that arose during the planning and implementation of the haunted house. By incorporating diverse elements into the haunted house experience, the activity promoted the attribute of being a global citizen.
The activities conducted during OPERA'22 aimed to introduce the facilities and common places in Kolej Tun Dr Ismail while providing an engaging platform for social interaction. The haunted house activity, along with others such as Resak Run, Movie Night, Sports Games, Busking, KTDI Got Talent, Mini Traditional Games, and Food Truck, catered to the interests and preferences of the residents. The haunted house, specifically, aimed to provide an exciting and thrilling experience. Through the spooky decor, hidden scares, and interactive elements, participants were able to overcome fears, build resilience, and enhance their teamwork and problem-solving skills. Overall, OPERA'22 successfully fostered engagement, networking, and personal development among the residents, with the haunted house activity contributing significantly to this outcome.
