I am the participant in this program, which i have to share my story and photos of me doing volunteer work

Since I was in high school, I participate actively in joining volunteering program and till now, I still love to participate in any volunteering activities. I know that by joining this kind of program, it can help me to become more empathetic and humble. This is the first online volunteering program that I was able to join and the way the program is being conducted truly amaze me. The most important reason I joined this program is because I was able to read other people’s volunteering experiences. I did not get many opportunities to go volunteer because of our current situation but being able to read other people’s volunteering stories can increase my motivation to keep on doing  good deeds whenever and wherever I am.

First of all, the graduate attributes that are focused on the program is global citizen. As the program is encouraging and promotes the importance of volunteering, it nurtures personal respect and respect for others and also encourages individuals to think deeply and critically about what is equitable and just, and what will minimize harm to our planet. Even though the program is not directly linked to volunteering but being able to know other people is also done a lot of volunteering programs can encourage others to keep on doing good deeds and help others. 

In addition, the program also promotes communication skills. By having to write a story and engage with other participants’ story, communication skills are compulsory. Writing is also a way of communicating and that is what this program intends to achieve. Besides, in my opinion, the program is also focused on scholarship.  By reading other people’s experience and story, I got to learn many things that I never knew before, thus  increasing my knowledge of my surroundings.

This program is some sort of competition where participants need to send their pictures along with their story and the committee member will post it on the program’s Instagram. The most moving and creative story and beautiful pictures with the most likes will win the competition. At the end of the program, there is a virtual exhibition going on with all of our pictures and stories and the participants can stroll around the exhibition while seeing and reading all the volunteering stories by other participants.

From the program, it gave me the opportunities to become more aware of my surrounding situations and increase my passion in volunteering. By reading all the stories, not only it increases my knowledge but it also increases my curiosity which leads me to make more research about the story that ignites my curiosity. By doing more research and read about related information, my knowledge deepens and it makes me more motivated to achieve success and help those in need.

I had done a lot of volunteering programs before, I think it is advantageous for me because I can choose a lot of my previous experience to compete in the competition. As I am involved directly with the volunteering program, I can write in details about my experience while volunteering. In addition to that, everywhere I go, I will try to capture a lot of good pictures thus I have no difficulties in choosing a great photo for my story.

One of the challenges while participating in this program is to write the story that can truly portray the experience that I got while doing the volunteering program. I would like to create the story that can make people reading it feel motivated and eager to do volunteering work too. It is a challenge because I do not have the skills to write poetically so what I do to overcome this challenge is I read my story a lot of time and make corrections where it needed to be. I try to include words that can attract other people's attention and use simple words that can convey my message clearly.
