Reflection On Project 1
I have learned that I needed to prepare with a good plan so that I wouldn't have occurred problems while doing the project. This is because we were facing problems while finishing the project such as redoing the questionnaire. We didn't realize that we are doing it wrongly until the phase of doing the R implementation.
Time management is also important as well as my groupmates and I took quite a long time to prepare and think of the questions to put in the questionnaire. Thus, the time dragged too much until we needed to hustle a bit to find respondents.
Ergo, as a leader, I need to lead my groupmates well so that we won't be facing the same problems ever again.
GROUP 9 PRESENTATION
Reflection On Project 2
The dataset that has been chosen is the statistics of the rubber estates and the statistics have been collected by the Department of Statistics Malaysia. The usage of rubber has been widely used across the world. Malaysia is one of the countries that produces a large number of natural rubber. Low production of rubber can affect many factors such as the export and import market, the price per kilogram, employment and etc. In order to let the market continues to other countries that are in need of rubber, the production of natural rubber per year needs to be taken into account.
The purpose of the study is to know whether there is any major difference and how big is the impact of the statistics of rubber estates in Malaysia from the year 1965 to 2014. Variables involved are year, the number of rubber estates, planted area of rubber estates, production of rubber estates, tapped area of rubber estates, and the total number of paid employees in rubber estates. Getting the right hypothesis is the main focus in achieving the case study.
A lot of challenges that I have faced when conducting Project 2. Limitation of time is one of the challenges. Even though the time period to finish up this whole project is long but because of too many projects and assignments that are due during the period, I needed to prioritize the nearest due first. Therefore, only a little time which is 5 days before the due date has left for me to finish up the whole project. Fortunately for me, I took only two days finishing up the project and it is an accomplishment for me. I guess pressuring myself to finish up as fast as I could is the factor that I could accomplish the project in just two days.
Other than that, I wanted to do the ANOVA test at first. I have put it in my proposal. Unfortunately, I didn't really analyze well and overlooked that the ANOVA test required three variables. But, I only have two that were suitable for that test. Thanks to God, He had opened my eyes to me, and then I decided to change to the chi-square test instead.
In terms of R coding and all, it was not a problem for me at all as I mostly refer to websites on R tutorial for more understanding and further explanations. Fortunately for me as well that I don't really take a lot of time to find the perfect dataset for the project.
