Industry Talk 1

• Speaker : Mr. Nazri HJ Edham, the Head Product Design of Telekom Malaysia (TM)
• Topic      : The role of TM in supporting the 4th revolution in Malaysia

       From the talk, I gain knowledge about the digitalization of services that enhance the user's experience such as from SMS to WhatsApp. Next, smart city is a city that capable of adapting to the responses needs by the citizens. There is more which is about 5G, the successor of 4G. With 5g the latency will decrease significantly and internet speed will increase drastically.  In the talk, the speaker also explains that TM is a converged communication service provider that gives hyperconnected data centers in a prime area that fulfill global standards.

• Speaker  : Ms. Sarah Khadijah Taylor, strategic  & project manager digital forensics department, Cybersecurity Malaysia
• Topic       : The effort that has been done by Malaysia toward IR 4,0

        Industry 4.0 is an infusion of automation to the manufacturing sector in daily activities. With Ir 4.0 it can enhanced efficiency and make competitiveness in the market value increase significantly. By IR4.0 people can create knowledge workers in terms of upskilling, certification and attachment programs.

• Speaker : Dr. Qusay Al Maatouk
• Topic      : Amazon Web Service Cloud Computing

        In the talk, he briefly had explain the concept of cloud computing. For now, the demand for cloud computing is steadily increasing. With cloud computing, all services like storage, applications, database and many more can be accessed within one app. The top reason for choosing cloud computing is to save money and have more efficiency.

• Speaker : Dr.Ruzimi bin Mohamed, founder of OZEL SDN.BHD.
• Topic      : Augmented Reality (AR)

       Augmented Reality (AR) is one of the 9 DIgital Industrial Technologies, also known as the nine pillars. There are some issues about AR that make the implementation of this technology take time. Firstly, AR requires a stable strong connection as it takes a lot of data to load. Next, creating AR technology itself will be very costly. The higher the quality of AR, the higher the cost. Lastly, the AR is difficult to maintain to be in a good performance.

• Speaker : Mr Goh Bih Der, Systems Engineer of COMMSCOPE. 
• Topic      : Emerging technology on network infrastructure

       Emerging technology on network infrastructure is a resource of a network that makes connectivity and communication possible. He also explained that the network infrastructure started with the access point and ended with the switches and core switches. These access points will allow various devices to be connected, while the switches will operate as nodes that manage data flow. The network connection in our country will considerably improve as a result of this new network architecture.

• Speaker : Mr Nicholas Yong, Executive Industry Solution Manager for Asia Pacific Region of HUAWEI
• Topic      : 5G

       In the talk, I gained knowledge about 5G is 50 times the speed of 4G which is a super-fast internet speed when compared to 4G. It also will have less latency than 4G.  He also told us about the new generation of WI-Fi which is Wi-Fi 6. The advantage of the Wi-Fi 6 is its long battery life, which is beneficial to the typical user and allows low-power gadgets to function. This battery life was increased by using a function known as Target Wake Time (TWT), which allows the Wi-Fi access point to signal our device when to switch on or off the Wi-Fi radio.

• Speaker : Mr. Isma Redha
• Topic      : Microsoft Power BI 

      When listening to the talk, I understand why data analysis techniques are frequently applied to a wide range of data to produce knowledge that can be utilized to improve things. This data can then be used to improve departmental performance through workflow optimization. He also explained briefly why people use Microsoft Power BI which because the data is connected to the cloud, it will allow other coworkers or acquaintances with access to interact with the data with ease. Microsoft Power BI also offers a variety of ways to visualize data, including a treemap, funnels, and a filled map, which allowing for greater versatility. This is primarily used in business to show sales with straightforward visuals for getting the essential data.

This course provided me with a collection of new information. It was well worth the effort. As a software engineering student, I believe this course will enable me to be a competent worker in the future by teaching me how to use a variety of applications, particularly Microsoft Power BI. I also learned a lot about Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud computing, which took me three days to learn. I need to learn more about management and leadership abilities as I am the group leader in this subject. I need to develop it so that my other group members can have a good leader who can effectively manage them and make any task easier than it should be. Anything is possible, I believe if we have a competent leader. I was grateful to have groupmates who were cooperative, particularly during talks and meetings. This makes it much easier to accomplish assignments.

         I'd also like to thank Dr. Izyan Izzati Kamsani for teaching us so well and making the session more interactive by using tools like Miro and Kahoot. Dr. is also negotiable and understands students, allowing them to complete assignments without feeling overburdened. Aside from that, I'm hoping that after this, I'll be able to continue learning technology with the knowledge I've gained during this course.
