FRESHMAN ACTIVITY SESSION 2023/2024 SEMESTER I

In my role as the Vice Director of the Freshman Activity, I undertook a pivotal position in a multifaceted initiative that brought together 12 distinct Chinese clubs within our university community. Collaborating with diverse clubs such as the UTM Wushu Club, Pesta Tanglung Club, Freedom Dance Crew (FDC), and more, our collective goal was to introduce and integrate incoming freshmen, including those embarking on degree Year 1 or Foundation programs, into the rich tapestry of our university's Chinese club scene.

My responsibilities extended beyond mere coordination, encompassing the delicate task of bridging the unique aspirations and requirements of each club. Challenges as a Vice Director were multifaceted, ranging from aligning disparate visions to ensuring effective communication across a diverse spectrum of cultural and artistic organizations. Successfully navigating these challenges demanded not only logistical finesse but also adept interpersonal skills. I need to communicate with each of the head of the department to deliver the info we high committee had discuss in order to ensure the work flow is smooth and can be done efficiently.

As the Freshman Activity unfolded, I found myself at the nexus of fostering a welcoming environment for newcomers and promoting the vibrant cultural diversity embedded in our university's Chinese club community. This experience not only heightened my organizational prowess but also deepened my appreciation for the richness that cultural diversity brings to the educational experience. On that day, i need to entertain those members from other university such as Universiti Tun Hussein Onn and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, this is to ensure a good image is provided to them.

MINI REPORT

The Freshman Activity, undertaken as the Vice Director, aimed to seamlessly introduce incoming freshmen to the diverse array of Chinese clubs within our university community. While orchestrating this event, a significant problem statement emerged: the challenge of aligning the varied goals and priorities of the 12 participating Chinese clubs. Each club brought its unique identity and objectives, making it crucial to find common ground and ensure a cohesive and engaging introduction for the incoming freshmen. Despite this challenge, the event was successfully organized, showcasing the cultural richness of the Chinese clubs and fostering a sense of belonging among the new students. This experience honed organizational and interpersonal skills, demonstrating the importance of navigating diverse club dynamics.
