Design Thinking Project Report
Reflection
Throughout the Design Thinking project, I learned what design thinking really is. My group members and I applied the skills of design thinking in this project, which have 5 stages:
1. Empathise
We gathered insights about users and trying to understand their objectives, wishes and needs.
2. Define
We identified the challenges they met. The questions we considered are: What difficulties do users face? What is the biggest user problem? What users actually need?
3. Ideate
We are dedicated to thinking about the way we can solve the problems we had identified, with the help of your product. My team brainstormed and generated multiple ideas to solve the problems. We finally chose the best one among all the ideas we were given.
4. Prototype
We turned our ideas into reality by working together to create prototypes.
5. Test
We presented the prototype in the form of video and find out if it solves their problem and provides users with what they need.
Understanding these five stages of Design Thinking not only guided me to complete this project effectively but also empowered me to apply the methods in order to solve complex problems that occur around us — in our schools, our companies, our countries, and even on the scale of our planet. I can see that the Design Thinking methods are the essential skills for IT industry professionals who are trying hard to make each detail in product design perfect, which means if I can master these skills, it would be really handy and helpful in my future career in IT industry.
