Introduction

As an after-school tutor, my main responsibility is to help students learn, reviewing content with them, explaining how to solve problems and checking completed work. I also help students develop study skills and organization techniques to help improve their academic performance.

Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (commonly abbreviated as UPSR; Malay), is a national examination taken by all students in Malaysia at the end of their sixth year in primary school before they leave for secondary school. It is prepared and examined by the Malaysian Examinations Syndicate an agency that constitutes the Ministry of Education. Starting from 2016, students in national schools (sekolah kebangsaan) are required to take six subjects. Students in Chinese and Tamil national-type schools (sekolah jenis kebangsaan) are required to take two additional language subjects, totalling eight subjects.

The Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) is a national examination taken by all fifth-form secondary school students in Malaysia.  SPM is the ultimate examination sat by secondary school students before entry into sixth form(STPM)/foundation/matriculation. The examination is set and examined by the Malaysian Examinations Syndicate. 

The evaluation scheme is fully exam-based. The examination for SPM usually takes place around November and lasts for more than 3 weeks. Papers are also scheduled in June for students who wish to resit for examinations they failed the previous year, but only for the compulsory subjects.

Matriculation is a one-year or two-year course of study for SPM post-graduate students before they enter the university degree program.

The new face-to-face 2015/2016 Session Matriculation Program gives students from the Science background a choice of three modules offered for future recruitment. The changes that will be implemented will be that there are no more Life Sciences and Physical Sciences programs but will be replaced by modules that are Module I, Module II and Module III.   The core subjects offered for each module in the Science Department are as follows;

Module I - Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.

Module II - Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science and Mathematics.

Module III - Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science and Mathematics.

Data engineers are responsible for finding trends in data sets and developing algorithms to help make raw data more useful to the enterprise. This IT role requires a significant set of technical skills, including a deep knowledge of SQL database design and multiple programming languages. But data engineers also need communication skills to work across departments to understand what business leaders want to gain from the company’s large datasets.

Data engineers are often responsible for building algorithms to help give easier access to raw data, but to do this, they need to understand company’s or client’s objectives. It’s important to have business goals in line when working with data, especially for companies that handle large and complex datasets and databases.
