Ir. Juraimi Masood, General Manager in Development Office at Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas(PTP) had come to UTM to share some useful information such as his working experience, how to deal with clients, project planning, engineering ethics and so on with students in FKE UTM.   He is also an engineer with electrical background.  During the sharing session, Ir Huraimi Masood explained the knowledge on Berth construction with us.  He also stated that design, project plan, construction, project cost, quality and safety are very important in heavy engineering.  For example, a company involved in the production of electricity generating plant is one of the companies with heavy engineering.  He also mentioned standard and guidance in engineering field:

(a)Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, IEEE
-avoid deceptive acts
-perform services only in areas of their competence


(b)National Society of Professional Engineer, NSPE

-hold paramount the safety, health and welfare of the public

  

He also showed the audience the results of a research about the manager’s view on their employers. The results showed that managers have negative view on their employers:  51 % for unrealistic compensation expectation, 46 % for easily distracted and 47 % for poor work ethics.  He also listed out eight employer’s expectation to the audience.  Skill number:
